Hello everyone i am new to this forum and would like some things answered by more experienced people. Basically, Swim enjoyed H on very rare occasions and would not consider himself an addict. Something like once or twice a month. ROA was sniffing, never shot. Family death occurred, so in stupidity to cope with loss frequency increased starting in last october. became a daily habit. from half a gram to a bout a gram within a 2 months. felt nice, would catch a nod and helped with anxiety and depression. right before christmas, swim stumbled onto fentanyl or one of its derivatives. swim was told that he would be saving money since you wouldnt need as much. the high was much more intense from much smaller dose. instead of using one gram a day of h, swim would use a gram of fent in 3 days. ofcourse tolerance built up to that as well, and within no time started to use a gram of fent a day. question is what equivalency was that to h. some sources say fent is 15 times stronger. does that mean swim was doing 15 grams of h based on that one gram of fent. fent has disappeared and h seems to be doing nothing now. has the tolerance got really that high and is that permanent? does that mean swim wont be able to enjoy h unless in ludicrous amounts? swim did a quarter the other day within hours, didnt do anything at all.

First of all, don't use the term 'SWIM'. No one will respond to a thread with that, it's in the rules of the forum. Just say 'I' for god's sakes. And fentanyl (along with heroin) affects everyone differently. For me, the high was stronger, but it didn't last as long, and I still had to do lines equal to those of heroin. I ended up just sticking to heroin because they're very different, distinct highs to me, and I preferred the classic heroin high.

Secondly, that's exactly how tolerance works. Cliche addiction story. You're going to have to keep upping your dose the more you use to reach that same high, and this is the kind of thing that leads to overdose. Try tapering down how often you use, that way you won't have to use as much when you do.

A gram of fent in a day? Isn't an active dose in the sub-miligram range?

it was obviously not pure fentanyl or maybe acetylfentanyl which is much weaker then fentanyl itself. The only way to lessen your tolerance to opiates is to take less of them. Or even better, take a break from your usage, but beware your tolerance may be much lower then now. After even short times of abstinence your chance of overdosing is very much increased.
