(A moderator may want to move this to Other Drugs. I'm starting here since the thread I am referencing is in this forum.)

I am aware that some of the toxicity and tolerance prevention strategies mentioned in the amphetamine thread also apply to other drugs.

Specifically, would any of the tolerance prevention supplements like DXM or Magnesium help to slow down tolerance to phenibut? I ask because it seems like phenibut provides a similar-to-amphetamine dopamine release, albeit through a different mechanism.

I have been taking pretty large doses on two nonconsecutive days per week, for over a month, and I'm only now noticing a slight tolerance increase. Obviously taking a longer break will help in combination with anything else I can do.

Also will any OTC product potentiate phenibut? Interestingly, I have found that goth kola seems to have a cross-tolerance to phenibut, and and also seems to abort the phenibut effects, or at least mix poorly with them. Rhodiola seems to abort the effects as well, or maybe it channels the effects of the phenibut to the wrong place.

What tolerance can magnesium help with?

I doubt dissociatives help significantly, I think they are mostly okay for opiate / stim tolerance which are relatively heavy on the dopamine release... then again virtually any drug with addiction potential apparently activates the reward circuit and that includes a lot of downer euphoriants. Also taking dissociatives only to lower other tolerance seems like a strange 'investment' since there can be cognitive issues and addiction issues, etc, I'd just use dissociatives for the sake of using dissociatives. ;)

GABAA agonists seem to synergize well when combining them with phenibut but I bet doing that is not particularly good for your GABAergic tolerance.

I don't recommend very high doses of phenibut, but maybe it is just because I tend to feel unwell when I push the dose, and I have only done that experimenting with it years ago.

It seemed that nmda antagonists in contrast to most other chemicals dont seem to be as effective for GABAB tolerance issues, one possibility is magnolia bard wich is reported to significantly potentiate phenibut however this is most likely due to a PAM related mechanism so tolerance would build up again.

Theres an anecdote of kava being effective togheter wich some rodent research of it upregulating gaba, and lastly fasoracetam upregulates GABAB so may be the most promosing solution.
