Today, I saw an angel
Details of her heavenly facial expression
Obscured by a moonlit and glowing neon cathodes

Her divinity almost erased by human imperfections
No, you must look carefully to see
From the cracks in her innocent smile
Streaks of sunlight brightly stream across the sky
light so radiant you must close your eyes to see

I only wonder if she remembers who she is
A forgotten promise of earthy obligation
Her eyes say no, but I’m certain it’s her
I could never forget such a saintly presence

So, it is at this we must leave
I’ve explored the depths of your being without a single word
In a single gaze, everything that we need has already happened
And but with a single wink in your departing step
I can only wonder what a being so pure found in me.
