To those that say college is way better than highschool

this is a bit embarrassing but wanted u happy college attendants opinions. All my life ive been told that just wait till college and its way better. Well i didnt get into a really nice school or anything like that(didnt even apply), just been taking a few community college classes.

I hate this shit practically. All my life everything has been pretty easy if i put in the effort, the problem is coming up with motivation. Now in college sure the classes are relaxed, and there is work thats simple(but time consuming) but it all sucks.

The teachers are just working there job, and im sitting there learning nothing. The kids sit next to me as if there's a wall seperating us and no talking is allowed.
I havent even met any friends at school yet.
I could do the work but whats the point? waste 5 years of my life doing boring learning with no friends. id rather be dead. :p

I had a pretty damn miserable time my first couple years of community college, too. All I can advise is to look at clubs and stuff that match your interests (for me, it was theater) and see if you can find some like-minded people to hang with. CC is difficult if you don't already know people, because there's so little socialization that you don't have to actively seek out. Most schools will have at least one club or organization that'll match something you like, even if it's just something like video games or D&D or whatever. University is a whole 'nother beast entirely and I have to say, it's a lot harder to be alone at a residential school. Just hang in there, man. I've been where you are and it sucks the big one, but life gets better, I promise.

I FUCKING love college. I am excited to graduate and move on with my life, but nothing will ever compare to going to a large public university. I met my boyfriend of three years here, started partying, got healthy, made great friends, had a blast and met tons of cool people! I also learned a lot about life and the world. I also have had tons of experiences that I will remember for the rest of my life. People are a lot less cliquey in college too, which I love.

Community college is completely different than attending a big university. Dorm life, athletics and the party scene are essential to your 'typical' college experience. Community college is like 13th grade. The people I know who go to CC hate it too.

Get good grades at your community college and then transfer to a real university. That's where the fun is at!!

I think both college and high school have their pros and cons.

High school was easy as fuck, but the people there were lame as fuck.

College can be hard and there still are lots of lame people there. But there are a lot more cool people. The other day I went by this creek across from campus and there were like a dozen hippies sitting around and everyone was mad chill. I never even went down to the creek last semester because i was too lazy, but I finally got my ass off the couch and had a great time. I guess you just have to try, I've found that if i judge people too quickly and treat everyone like strangers, I get treated like a stranger right back.

What I liked about high school was having my parents support me. They paid for food clothes, my car insurance, my cell phone. Now that I have to work 30 hours a week and pay for everything and worry about getting good grades it's way more stressful.

Then again I now have the freedom to do pretty much whatever i want, so it's give and take.
I think lately WAY too many people are getting pushed into college who don't want to be there. I remember like my entire graduating class went to at least a community college....4 years later less than half of us have degrees.

University/college isn't for everyone and I'm not saying that like it's a bad thing, some people would rather do something else and i totally understand that. But after i spent almost 2 years out of college i realized I don't want a miserable shitty paying job...shit I'd rather have a miserable decent paying job. :)
