i recently had a full grand mal seizure after iving a stupidly big snowball. fitting, arms locked, frothing at mouth etc

what are some of the experiences had or witnessed by folk here on the more extreme side of stim use/abuse and all that

for me, the idea of a stim rush of which i couldnt nonchalantly gaelic-shrug off at will.. was utterly astonishing, and

(for some reason my browser is limiting my replies to 120 characters at the moment, so anyway..)

..so yeah, and matters werent helped by the witness to my fit not knowing what the fuck a) was goin on & b) what to do..

tryin to lower my soaring temp in removing my tshirt round locked arms, tried pulling one of em down w/ all his strength

then when i stopped fitting, while crouched directly above me began slapping me, presumably to bring me round, lol

..the effect, unsurprisingly, wasnt quite as calm as your resurfacing, stee.. i awoke absolutely terrified, thinking..

..i was under attack from 3people, not recognising my friend or his words, after reaching the wall, backing up in terror

..i apparently then grabbed the nearest vaguely offensive object & lunged at him - still not speaking sensically - and..

chased him out of the flat. i was confused & presumably due to the adrenaline - absolutely terrified. the guy had to..

..shout through the letterbox for five minutes till i came round enough to take in what was going on. i was fitting on &

off whilst unconcious for five mins, which is classed as a medical emergency. my arm panned where he'd tried forcing it

from locked position, otherwise ok. tho read since stim-based seizures do have a far higher mortality rate than the rest

I had a seizure about 15 years ago at gatecrasher, after having a classic hyperthermic reaction to ees and the silly amount of speed I threw down on top of them. The paramedics sorted me right out on site (the event was at the nec not the republic), gently bringing my temperature down over the course of 2 / 3 hours. By about 3am, they were happy enough with my progress to allow me to rejoin the night, and as I re entered the NEC arena to be greeted by the most epic thunder drums of Mauro Picotto, I did the only thing A stupid young raver could do - I had one more pill which kept me hopping through the final four hours of Picotto and Scott Bond.

Its hard to imagine that I used to be even more reckless than I am now, my subsequent heroin addiction has obviously done wonders for my behaviour and self control 8(

fubar - indeed, unfortunately having a few prior to breathe for someone in respitory arrest for 20mins after discovering

their gouch id left them to enjoy having felt a strong pulse (mistake#1) had slid into respitory failure - for at least

five minutes, maybe six.. turned them over to find not just their lips, but their entire face was blue. what ensued was

the most terrifying event of my life. literally having a life in my hands. once they began breathing - i went into shock

Just want to point out that i wasn't having a dig (pun intended) at you there BHM, it was merely a tongue in cheek observation that respiratory failure is a relatively sedate, albeit ultimately fatal, affair in comparison to a stimulant induced seizure. When I near fatally OD'd on smack and clonazepam, I was the only one not traumatised by the event as I just slept through it all..
 
I know a girl that used to have a fit every time she took pills. She carried on doing them, anyway, figuring the high was worth it. They were petit-mal seizures, though. Hardly the same thing. Never had one, myself.
 
Did you receive medical attention BHM? Is this likely to make you more seizure prone in the future? Also, kudos for working on your mate until he started breathing again. My mate did that for me until the paramedics arrived. It takes a special kind of person to keep going, especially when the o.d.ee is quite clearly dead (at least for the time being).
 
Pretty hardcore story. *snip* This ain't the first time you've not been shy of stacking the needle either. Won't bore you by pointing out the obvious that you're playing with life and death here and you can only get lucky so many times.

I'd offer support but Sadie is far more sensitive/understanding/prettier than me, so will let you two crack on.

Yeah, I had to look after this particular girl, and she was totally unaware of what was going on. She was just spazzing about on the floor, whilst I kept hold of her and kept her head supported. After ten minutes, she was back dancing. It was pretty scary, at the time, but a grand-mal sounds pretty nasty. I've seen a couple of people hit the floor, at large events, when the strobe lights have been going and it's not pretty. However, stimulants lower the seizure threshold, so it's always a possibility. Glad you're alright.
