Shaun,
I close my eyes and clutch my heart.
a thousand days together, a single day apart.
This is the day when all is lost,
when you charge to battle, my fingers crossed.
I know only comfort while you know pain,
and the order is issued to kill and maim.
I never thought it would have come to this,
you are the one person I will truly miss.
As our Final Timer begins to tick,
our leaders must think they are pretty slick.
They have pulled the blindfold over our eyes,
and revealed our destiny, but it is no surprise.
The Final Days are here but I have few regrets.
We will be together soon,
once God collects.
After today's news I had to write something. I don't know what to say about the current crisis. I have a lot of oppinions but I must admit: I'm only 20 and I know very little about the world. This war is going to happen wether I like it or not, I just hope and pray that the people in charge know what they are doing. My best friend is over there and I never would have forseen this happening. 5 years ago we hung out nearly every day. He was like a brother to me, as his family was too busy to care for him. My mom let him stay in our house and spend the night week after week. I miss you so much Shaun and I'll be praying for you and the rest of our men (and ladies) in uniform each and every day. I'm proud of you and proud to call you my brother.
