To Absent Friends

Behind Conroy, with a Chainsaw...
To absent friends
And dull memories
I'd toast the numb
Amnesiac impulse
Blind to time
Trickling downhill
Draining like some
Smashed hourglass
While thoughts
Buzz and scratch
At the edges
Of conscience
Or lonely guilt
That we yet live
When all is spent
To absent friends
Nostalgia claimed
Took hold of all
And we sit now
Silent
Waiting for shock
As life drags us
Ever forward
Without you

While trying to sleep this morning, I was looking through the bluelight shrine, thinking about various friends I've had and people I've known who've died over the last year or so. So here it is.

-plaz out-

I've been thinking a lot about friends who have left us in the past year. It hurts thinking they're not here anymore but most of the time it brought a tiny smile knowing I was privileged to have known them in that short time.

something about the rhythm of your pieces honestly blows me away.

it's like you can take any string of beautifully combined words, and set them to your own music. being able to manipulate language like that is an extraordinary talent.

poignant content too; there's nothing quite like that dull ache that remembering absent friends brings :(

okay remind me to smack you later,, i was not even gona post in bluelight on holiday and i did and read this,, since i didn't go see my dad's gravesite yesterday i am gona take this with me and read it today there,,, i am sure you won't mind :)

beautiful darlin,, now i have tears in my eyes,,

luv ya babybear

Oh my, it seems we have been on a similar mindset, just wrote something similar! 8o Yet you have a very distincive way of writing, theres more nostalgia and acceptance than sadness in this. Awesome!

And we sit now
Silent
Waiting for shock
As life drags us
Ever forward
Without you
