tips on OUTDOOR growing

^growing your own and not having to rely on other people providing you material is harm reduction
 
I would also be interest in any info anyone has on a low maintainence (every 2 weeks) grow, if it works....
 
Growing outdoors is pretty simple. Dig a decent sized hole and fill it with good soil. Put the germinated seed in the hole water and then fence the site up (deer and other animals WILL eat it). Dont tell anyone where it is, and do it in a discrete location preferably not on your land.%)
 
Resources on outdoor growing

It is my wish that as cannabis becomes legal (hopefully in this state next year) then we will see an increase in the practice of outdoor growing. A good source on technique is the IC website to which I have provided links in my posts.

Factors in the Outdoor environment and there effect on growth and quality of cannabis

Alot of background info and theory that I believe every serious outdoor grower should know. If you sift through this you will find links to sites like forums on IC and a link to the authoratative text on the topic "Marijuana Botany" is a classic and where in you might find the info you are looking for. In this thread there is a post about the outdoor growing conditions in Oz (were your from if I'm not mistaken) taken from the new issue of high times. Maybe you can contribute to the topic (like which states are known for good outdoor bud). HT mentioned that last years fire had an adverse effect on the outdoor grow scene in Victoria or something along those lines, was this your experience?.

Landrace and Outdoor Growing Conditions This is Frosty's thread on landrace strains. Info about outdoor growing conditions and suitability of different landrace strains to different locales is also discussed. What strains do you plan on growing. Which landrace strains thrive were you live (if you happen to know this?). How bout beans/ cuttings- they indica, sativa, hybrid. When does the season run were you live: march, april, may? Before? After?

Consider buying books on guerrilla growing techniques if needed to protect your crops against poachers and other wild life. Harm reduction: Firearms have no place in cultivation. But look through the info I give you but hopefully you have the discipline to read alot to get through these 2 links- (interspersed in them are some other links that will point you in the right direction.) I wish you luck and applaud your contribution to the cause of outdoor growing were the supperior dank realy comes from in my opinion. Please take the time to do it right.

If your in Aus the season is upon us, best to start in september time but you can plant probably up until end of december. Germinate your seeds first for 4-5 days or so so you can see the tail of the root. Get a pot or put it in the ground, soil must be good, i recommend potting mix, mixed with some good qaulity garden soil and perlite (good for drainage). Put some rocks at the bottom of your pot or hole. Maybe 5 cm high of rocks fill with ur medium then plant your germinated seeds witht he root facing down realatively shallow, Id say mayb 2cm deep. Water every few days making sure it doesnt dry out (stick your finger in soil too see if its still damp under the top soil) should only need watering once every 2 or mayb 3 days. if its really hot/dry then u can water every 1-2 days. From here on it should sprout after a couple of days and should be well and truely visible by the one week mark. From here on make sure you just keep watering it every few days so it doesnt dry out. You dont need any nutrients or anything at this stage because as their young they have all their nutrients supplied for them. Make sure they get plenty of direct sunlight and if your trying to keep animals out just use some caging around the outside. Outdoor your gonna have to deal with pests like bugs and grubs you wont be able to fix that just live with it.

Thats all I can really think of for the beginning stages, dont use fertilizer when their young they dont need it.
 
my friend's stepdad grew pot in his mom's garden when he was a kid. his mom had no idea what it was but she kept watering it every day.

so his neighbor was an ex-cop and called the police. they show up at his door, and say that a complaint was filed about marijuana growing in the yard. his mom tells them they can come look. when they point out the 10-15 pot plants, she says "oh those? i had no idea what they were. just thought they were pretty so i watered them every day"

They took the plants and left without saying another word.

just make sure nobody catches ya :P
