Timing DXM to potentiate Hydrocodone

The past 2 days I have used DXM (in the 60-75mg range) to potentiate my hydrocodone buzz and noticed it to work decently. Each time I've taken the DXM 1 hour prior to taking the hydrocodone.

My question is, I've heard timing of DXM is essential when using it with other drugs so what would be the optimal wait time after taking DXM. Should I wait 2 hours, 1.5?? Etc etc, anyone who has experience or who has taken DXM at different time intervals prior to opiate ingestion let me know.

So far the longest I've waited was 1 hour but would like to know if better potentiation could be had from possibly waiting any longer. Thanks.
 
That didn't answer my question, much to vague. Are you saying waiting an hour is "full swing" or wait more?

Can I get a quantitative answer preferably?
 
That is full swing.

Basically, once it is all absorbed, you are in good shape.

1 to 2 hours is good. If you miss peaking on the DXM, it might not turn out so good.
 
And on a side note, what's the most APAP you'd ingest (ideally none I know) before considering a CWE? The most APAP I've ever ingested was taking 8 Tylenol 3's. I regularly take 4 Norco 10/325's and am wondering what other people consume before deciding to do a CWE. I know they say 1000mg per dose is the max and 4000mg per day but there must be some buffer zone safety wise...
 
If you have to go over 2000 mg in one dose, I'd say CWE...

Some people have higher limits, because you do lose some hydrocodone to the filter. But, not so much you would notice.
 
Ya that's been my unwritten guideline as of yet, anything over 1500-2000 ideally CWE
 
My advice is do the DXM 30-60 min before the hydrocodone. 60-80 mg is plenty, you really don't need too much of a potentiator to get the effect. The hydrocodone come up seems to be quicker when you take the potentiator (whichever you use) beforehand. For APAP, as long as you aren't taking alcohol with it, 2000 mg at a time is ok, no more than 4000 mg per day, definitely not all at once.
 
Thanks for the replies. I take the DXM at t - 1:00, then 15 minutes later 600mg cimetidine, (not concerned with inhibiting hydrocodone ---> hydromorphone since its only a small fraction), and then my hydrocodone taken together with 50-75mg diphenhydramine
 
Hi Murph!
I found taking the DXM (<100mgs) 3-4 hours before dosing works best for me. It takes awhile to get where it needs to go in the body to work the way you want it. DXM is a long-lasting drug so you will be fully covered for the duration of your hydro dose.
