Time to get out but can't financially

I hope things get easier from here on out--and I bet they will. People (in this case your mom and grandma) often don't realize just how destructive it can be to have relationships based on obligation rather than loyalty. There is a huge difference. The first is unhealthy, the latter is humans at their best.

oh you will not believe how good it is going to feel to come in, close the door, and it is quiet and yours. just yours =D
best of luck, am positive things will work out great all the way around!

Good for you!! you've done the right thing. You'll find your relationship with both improves a ton now that you don't live in the same space I'll bet! good luck and Hang in there!! Congratulations on the new place!!
Thank you for the kind words. :) I think our relationship will improve, however it is going to take a long time for my grandma to get over feeling as though this is because of her, and I fear she won't live that long... :( (Took her more than five years to realize me going vegetarian wasn't an insult to her cooking...)

I hope things get easier between my mom, my grandma, and I. As I said, it's going to take a long time. There is a lot of guilt and a lot of abandonment/"loyalty" issues. A lot of "but you said" and "I thought"...

Thanks, izzy. :) The first day I arrived ...home/here and opened the door, there was my moose to greet me. Instant mood lift as I had had an incredibly long day at work after little sleep (new apartment jitters which meant barking at every noise/footstep--It's a three-apartment house, so there's a bit of foot traffic). Coming home/here and being greeted with such love instead of the obligatory greetings twas very nice. :)

Overall, things are looking up. Unpacked most of the kitchen tonight, though the majority of the cupboards need to be cleaned before anything goes into them (mouse poop everywhere, ew). The boxes in the living room have been consolidated for the most part... I am now envisioning new furniture arrangements, new colors (so sick of the "institutional glossy white"--Though that's the color the rooms will be for awhile), and the curtains/blinds go up tomorrow/Sunday! Will hopefully have gas (heat, hot water, stove[!]) on Sunday.

Thanks for the support, everybody. Felt like you deserved an update. <3
