First off, I have no idea if this is the right forum for this, as it wasn't really a trip, so my bad if this is the wrong place.
Anyway, I test drove tianeptine the other day for its nootropic properties and was pleasantly surprised, I felt a buzz, so I was hoping this stuff would be good for pain.
Some background on me: female in early 20s, chronic and often severe pain, but not constant (THANK GOD. I have a HUGE amount of sympathy and respect for those who are dealing with pain that is not only chronic, but constant) due to menstrual cramps/endometriosis. My DOC for pain is oxycodone but of course, it's not easy to come by, and my dr won't even give me so much as tramadol.
Anyway, my scale sucks so I measured out approximately 100mg but it could really be anywhere from 80-120 in reality. Put it in a capsule, swallowed, and 40 minutes later began to feel a mild buzz. I was in pain before it hit, and while it hit, I wasn't in any pain at all, but 5 minutes later, it hit and it was as bad as always. I have some nerve pain in my arm after an injury and it did jack for that as well. All the while I had that buzz going, but the pain relief was nonexistent. After the tianeptine mostly wore off, I took 2mg etizolam and honestly, that worked WAYYY better, simply by providing muscle relaxation and thus significantly lessening the cramps. The tianeptine was VERY disappointing though, I'm sticking with kratom and whatever else I can get for now. And to my fellow women dealing with excruciating cramps and/or endo, try a muscle relaxant if you haven't already. I did it because "what the hell, why not" and was surprised at the efficacy.
One thing I forgot to mention-tianeptine reminds me of hydrocodone in that you can get a buzz, but it's almost worthless for relieving more intense, 7+ pain. It maybe took the edge off a tiny bit (maybe even that was just placebo) but I was still extremely uncomfortable. Not the miracle I was hoping it would be, it might be good for milder pain but then so are nsaids.
