I was taking 4mg of suboxone and was clean for 3 months before smoking fentanyl patches again. My doc bumped me back up to 8 (what I started at but it was too much during my clean streak) and I still get fairly moderate withdrawals after several hours of not smoking any fent.

I thought it wasn't possible to feel high while on subs but my first toke of the day I do feel something. I also thought it wasn't possible to feel withdrawals either... I'm less curious about how I feel even a slight high but I would really like to know how the hell I'm feeling withdrawals if the sub should be blocking my opiate receptors??

I know fent is really strong but I'm smoking def less than half a 100mcg patch a day.

My doc even said I shouldn't be feeling withdrawals... somebody please explain, I'm so confused lol

So your wondering why you still feel withdrawals when taking 8mgs of Suboxone? Well fent is one opioid which is known to be able to overpower bupe at times unlike other opioids which don't have such a strong affinity for the receptors. That's probably why you feel a slight high after smoking fent despite being on Suboxone too.

One possibilty is the fent has raised your tolerance to a point the 8mgs Suboxone doesn't hold you over anymore like it used to.
When you use on top of your matinence dose it jacks your tolerance up and if the fent is able to beat the Suboxone to the receptors then it could be causing you to go through withdrawals because the fent is so much shorter acting compared to buprenorphine.

What symptoms to you feel from withdrawal? Are the symptoms very severe?
