go to the page with the drug "facts."

all it notes is the negative effects, and acts like the worst ones are likely. i'd call that propaganda wouldn't you?

they have a page for ritalin even though it's prescribed to help AD/HD. apparently it's in the same category as speed and cocaine, and it's highly addictive (the speed thing i've heard but never cocain. as far as highly addictive, i was on ritalin for months for my AD/HD. no addiction whatsoever).

post your opinions on this.

when ADD meds are taken as prescribed there is not much risk of addiction. When you start abusing it is when the addiciton hits.

more geared to CD:
"Marijuana is the word used to describe the dried flowers, seeds and leaves of the Indian hemp plant. Hashish is made from the plant's gummy sap (resin) and is six times stronger than marijuana. Cannabis describes any of the different drugs that come from Indian hemp.

Today's growers have developed techniques to make the drug much stronger, resulting in an increase in the number of marijuana-related emergency room visits."

that is what i would call propaganda...
Gummy sap? wtf its not maple suryup........
Marijuana related emergency room visits? please.........

Seems like a harm reduction website. There was no false info that i could see skimming through, in fact the did point out alcohol is the leading cause of substance related death, more than all other drugs combined.

And real hash is made from the plants resins, or sap as they call it. And there are some people sensitive to the effects of marijuana, apparently they get panic attacks and anxiety. There are marijuana related emergency room visits.

Propaganda - The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause.

^ lol I don't know what you were reading. Looks like pretty stupid to me.

Drugs are essentially poisons. The amount taken determines the effect.

A small amount acts as a stimulant (speeds you up). A greater amount acts as a sedative (slows you down). An even larger amount poisons and can kill.

LSD is manufactured from a fungus that grows on rye and other grains and is one of the most potent chemicals and poisonous substances on Earth.

Agreed.

LSD Mental effects:
Severe, terrifying thoughts and feelings, fear of losing control, fear of insanity and death

1) set and setting, idiots.
2)subjective experiences, such as fears and feelings, should not be sited as definite mental effects of the drug. This will almost always vary.

lol

"He told me he'd love me forever if I smoked crack with him."

and then there's a 1 second video clip of a girl standing next to some shady-ass dude screaming "BUT I LOVE YOU! AAAHHHHHHH!"

the videos are hilarious!

"One lie told about drugs is that they help a person become more creative. The truth is quite different.

Someone who is sad might use drugs to get a feeling of happiness, but it does not work. Drugs can lift a person into a fake kind of cheerfulness, but when the drug wears off, he or she crashes even lower than before. And each time, the emotional plunge is lower and lower. Eventually, drugs will completely destroy all the creativity a person has."

^totally untrue. i know people who have done some of the best paintings they have ever painted on shrooms. and some advice a friend told me for taking shrooms: "make sure you're wearing clothes you don't care too much about because you ARE going to ruin them. Oh and make sure you have a lot to draw on"

"Marijuana and hashish users build up a tolerance to the drugs, which can lead them to take more of it or experiment with stronger drugs to get the same effect."
^i can see some false facts in this one. Pot is the gateway drug, but it's all about your responsibility with it. If you don't want a habit to form, and still get the same feeling, smoke it every once in awhile. that's what i do.

"Physical effects of LSD:
1. Raised body temperature
2. Increased heart rate and blood pressure
3. Sweating or chills
4. Loss of appetite
5. Sleeplessness
6, Dry mouth
7. Tremors"
^the effects of acid depend completely on your mood, your surroundings, and occurring events. Almost none of these symtoms are likely. #7 for example. i've never EVER heard of anyone who was able to fall asleep on acid.

"Mental effects of LSD:
1. Severe, terrifying thoughts and feelings, fear of losing control, fear of insanity and death
2. Visual hallucinations
3. Distortion of one's sense of time and identity
4. Distorted time perception, distorted perception of size, shape, movements, color, sounds, touch and one's own body image
5. Recurrence of the LSD trip, offen without warning long after the drug was taken (days, weeks, months and even years)
6. Severe depression or psychosis"
^Yet again, it's all about your surroundings. in reference to #5. Flashbacks are in no way common with an Acid trip. Yeah I've heard it happen to people (my mom has had flashbacks, but not from acid. it was from supposedly marijuana laced with pcp) but it's not really likely with the drug though it does happen. #6. Severe Depression or psychosis? They are acting like this is a common thing from this drug. Far as i can tell it's extremely rare that you'd fall into some lifelong depression, or go psychotic from dropping acid a few times.

At least they tell the truth about one thing about acid (or at least not lie about it, at the same time failing to mention the following fact): It is not physically addictive in the least.

FUCKING LOL: Another thing i noticed is that all their videos are based around the statement "They Said." Who would listen to those kinds of people anyways? That's what bluelight is for. I do at LEAST 2 to 3 months of research on here and other sites (i.e. http://www.erowid.org/) before actually trying a drug.

Also I find it quite amusing that one drug they failed to include was mushrooms.
lol

Another fucking lol: http://www.drugfreeworld.org/#/videos/love-lost

^everyone knows you don't take that much fucking painkillers! read the bottle dipshit.

Also all of the videos on there have people doing stupid reckless shit after taking the drugs. drugs don't automatically make you do shit like that (except maybe angel dust). also the people in these videos have bad reactions to the drugs because they take them cuz some dick told them to. if they had any real education about what the drug did, then it would be fine. also a little self control helps when it comes to forming addictions.

"sap" is found in the vascular tissue of a plant- otherwise people would bleed a marijuana plant and have an endless supply of hash.

^ this is completely false, lsd has a lower toxicity than aspirin.

LOL i found this website yesterday too..except i made a thread in ED...its seriously fucked up!
The documentary is just hilarious..shes talking about people dying from takin a pill..yet she like forgets what to say and pauses for a bit halfway thru....hahahaha

meeh , i dont expect more from a government funded website . do you ? lol

just dont believe all this hype and continue spreading the word

Sorry guys i have to set you all straight here about the LSD fact:

LSD was first synthesized by Albert Hofmann in 1938 from ergot, a grain fungus that typically grows on rye.

Ergot contains no lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) but instead contains ergotamine, which is used to synthesize lysergic acid, an analog of and precursor for synthesis of LSD.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergot#Effects_on_humans_and_other_mammals

Ergot is a fungus that infects cereal grains, replacing kernels of the fruit with small black masses of mycelium. It produces ergotamine, a potent vasoconstrictor and precursor to LSD. Ergot poisoning (St Anthony's Fire) causes hallucinations, gangrenous loss of limbs, and death. Outbreaks plagued medieval Europe and were associated with witchcraft and the Inquisition.

So even though this website is using this information out of context and as a scare tactic it is correct (I'm only talking about the bit on LSD though)

Reading that site while hitting a joint is as fun as watching Intervention while on the nod.

Sites like this with such blatantly false propaganda just give kids the impression that ALL supposed risks of drug use are overstated/false. In the end, anti-drug education and the war on drugs are far more harmful than ignoring drug use could ever be.
