Was browsing through old DEA Microgram bulletins and read this :
LSD-Strychnine is being encountered in upstate New York. The combination is found in red, size "00" capsules containing about one gram of chocolate colored material. Fred W. Grant, Ph.D, Marcy State Hospital, Marcy, New York, reports that the capsules contain as much as 1% (10mg.) strychnine and that severe toxic reactions have resulted from their ingestion.

In the past it has been used as a performance enhancing drug. From wikipedia:

While it is no longer used medicinally, it was used historically in small doses to strengthen muscle contractions, such as a heart and bowel stimulant[8] and performance-enhancing drug.

Strychnine was popularly used as an athletic performance enhancer and recreational stimulant in the late 19th century and early 20th century, due to its convulsant effects. One notorious instance of its use was during the 1904 Olympics marathon, when track-and-field athlete Thomas Hicks was administered a concoction of egg whites and brandy laced with a small amount of strychnine to boost his stamina. Hicks won the race, but was hallucinating by the time he reached the finish line. Maximilian Theodor Buch proposed it as a cure for alcoholism around the same time. It was thought to be similar to coffee.[59][60] Its effects are well-described in H. G. Wells' novella The Invisible Man: the title character states "Strychnine is a grand tonic ... to take the flabbiness out of a man." The protagonist replies: "It's the devil, ... It's the palaeolithic in a bottle."[61]

I thought the strychnine really synergisezes [edit] well with LSD when taken this way. Delightful.

The Su07 rather than comparatively smaller 00 than the article OpP mention,ed may be a good idea if your adding cyanide but I'd church with people on here that really know their chemistry.

In the past it has been used as a performance enhancing drug. From wikipedia:
There's a well known psychonaut, 69ron, typically in dmt-nexus and other forums, that talked very positively about strychnine (nux vomica) he took some of it, in little doses as a low dose/microdose lsd "substitute" and stimulant. He explains very clearly how much to take and how NOT to take it.

Do urban myths need an origination? The most important thing is it gives an illusion of superiority to the guy saying "Dude it had strycnine in it" - truth/validity/evidence have no place in the scheme of it.
