Thinking of moving to spain or portugal, how is the employment there?

So let's say I want to earn around 700e / month with minimal effort, preferably nothing physical. I don't have any degree, but I'm decently above average intelligence according to a reputable psychologist. I have a half finished degree for a laboratory assistant (apprenticeships maybe?). My working capabilities are limited, so I'm kinda stuck in scandinavia because of the good social security. Can't get a part-time job here either, but the weather absolutely sucks and drives me insane. I don't even know if I could pull it off but hell, better to try and die than never try and die anyway.

Other warm countries with cheap costs of living and good employment situations could work too.

Employment situation there is fucked, mate. They are all unemployed.

But you may find something that involves dealing with other Scandinavians - telephone or office work perhaps or working in the retirement communities on the coast. Worth a shot, and you can get home on the train in two days if it doesn't work out.

Get yourself a TEFL certificate. Then go to International House just off Las Ramblas near Trafalgar (Barcelona).

Pretty much.

The CELTA is standarised, where a TESOL could be a full 144hr course, with assessed teaching practice and everything a CELTA has, or it could be a 5,10,15,20,25,50hr online piece of crap. That's the key difference.

I did a 144hr TESOL around five or six years ago, as a backup plan. Was thorough enough and cost me $1800, iirc.

This would probably be my best bet, I'm a terrible salesman, unless the product is something I really believe in, which rarely is the case. Usually it's just junk telemarketers try to push on other people and I think it's disgraceful and when they say they don't want to buy whatever it is I'm selling my first instinct is just to say well that's an excellent idea, tried this line of work once.

I guess the IH job means I would have to learn really good spanish first? Goddamn unemployment everywhere though. If I had a good product, I could convince a friend to join me and setup a company/office in either of the countries and sell primarily to my home country from there, because of much more relaxed taxing. Usually people who do that here go to estonia, but that's not warm enough for my taste. I have lots of friends who like to smoke cannabis and aren't afraid to work, some with actual business skills so I could actually get some help.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Courses like CELTA don't require teachers to have any knowledge of a student's native language as they are taught totally in English. But you know, it might be nice to be able to communicate a bit in Spanish or Portuguese if you're living there.

Thinking about moving to Spain myself, if I rent out my house here I would have about 500e weekly without working, it's that enough to live in Iberia, I have a business degree and another in IT, would they be any use in getting a tefl job.
