Some quick stats
22 years old, been taking 1mg Lorazepam (Ativan) for over 2 years. I take the full 1mg of Lorazepam in one single dosage before bed. No other drug use accept a smoker and on steroid cycle right now. 750mg test ew.

Decided i wanted to taper down to 0.5mg.

Cut it down to 0.75mg for 5 days, no noticeable withdrawal symptoms.

Then cut it down further to 0.5mg for a further 4 days im now on day 4 of the 0.5mg.

Definitely noticing withdrawal symptoms. Lethargic, heightened anxiety and slight struggle pronouncing words. Not a serious struggle i just sometimes use the wrong word when having a conversation. Things don't feel exactly right, like a distant feeling.

Sleeping fine though no problems with that. Having loads of sex which could be helping? banging a escort every night lol.

Should i raise back to 0.75mg? or would i likely stabilize on the 0.5mg quickly? I mean it shouldn't get any worse after like 4 days of being on 0.5mg right? 8)

This is not a very hefty benzo regimen, but only do what you're comfortable with.

The best bet would be to switch to a longer acting benzo like diazepam and taper using that. Then perhaps to using something like gabapentin or clonidine for any post-acute stuff.

I've been off obscene amounts of clonazepam for a month and a half now and I still get spasms in my eyes where my eyeballs uncontrollably move back and forth rapidly. Other than that I'm okay. Your lorazepam dose is pretty small and shouldn't be too difficult to get off of.

Best of luck

Thanks, just got a bit worried when i checked benzobuddies forum and they suggest anything over 0.125mg every 2 weeks is too much to taper lol.

Just want to take it easy this time with it. Because last time i tried to quit 1mg cold turkey my heart rate gone up to 170+ and i got hospitalized for a night.

You seem fairly experienced with benzo tapering so would you mind answering a quick question. In your experience how long does it take to stabilize after a cut in dosage? e.g I'm 4 days into the 0.5mg cut, will i be stable on that in about a week?

Unfortunately changing to a longer acting benzo just isn't a option right now. I find diazepam very sedating and due to work I'm on the roads most of the day. Wouldn't trust driving on even 10mg of diazepam.
