Things us stoners can't agree on - The bong debates!

Small tokes but often, or large pulls less often, which gets us higher?

I personally PREFER and notice myself much higher with a Massive bong rip all in one than hooting on a joint... joints are almost negligible to me, half the time I can't even pull anything from the tube unless me or one of my pros built it, and they're eat up more weed than a bong can if you use it just right.

One big 0.3 in a gram is usually what I go for, charge the whole bong hard take the pull and hold it until discomfort. sometimes this can reach up to half a gram in a bong with some percolation/extra filtration but...oddly these special instruments tend to reduce the high for me. just a straight pryrex long tube bong for me and i'm chilled

An increased heart rate is what increases the speed blood travels through the circulatory system. Coughing is not going to change your heart rate one way or the other significantly enough to attribute for the fact that it only takes roughly seven seconds for a vaporized drug to become absorbed and then begin to take effect.
 
Oh someone posted about coughing your lungs out causing less oxygen to get to the brain and being very short of breath causing you to feel higher, lol. I've thought this to myself after taking a big bong rip and coughing myself to death...am I so high cause it was great weed or I can't freaking breathe? lol
 
First, I would say, the whole coughing issue is due to shortness of breath, if your sitting there taking toke, aftet toke out of a bong, Im sure your not getting a whole bunch of fresh oxygen into your lungs, which would probably cause you to feel a bit light headed , but I do not thing it increases the high,

Some people cough on tiny hits, some people can rip a 3-4ft bong and not cough once, Does it mean the person taking tiny hits coughing is getting higher? no.
(All In my Opinion, ofcourse)

As for the whole indica / sativa , it depends on the person, if you want to get couch locked and sit and eat while watching tv your probably going to want to smoke indicas, if your going to be going out running errands and doing shit all day, and still want to be able to function, and be high, Sativa is probably what you'd want.



As for the ammount of trichomes, well, As long as the bud hasn't been sprayed, I would tend to think that yes, the more trichomes on the bud, the more content of thc is would have, there for you would get higher, but also, is the bud sticky? is it dry? does it have a potent smell? All makes a difference to me (and this again, is all my opinion)


I think alot of people go through the whole 'laced' weed phase when they first start smoking, I haven't heard too many experienced weed smokers say "Oh I got laced weed and I was hallucinating"
I remember when I was younger, I got my first bag of the best weed Ive ever had (still to this day), and it FUCKED me up, I had Closed eye visuals, and music sounded incredible, but, other than CEVs, I haven't really ever hallucinated from weed other than seeing things in the corner of my eye, that could be paranoia, or it could've been the combination of medications I take


I can throw seeds on the ground, but they wont grow unless I put them under dirt or soil for some odd reasom ;) lol,
Im actually pretty good with plant, Ive been growing marijuana recently and I've found it VERY easy to get passed vegging stage, flowering is where I start to have problems. Could've easily been my fault with the nutes or pH, but Im
only my second real grow, so, we shall see.


I always seem to get into politics, or religion when it comes to stoned debates, not sure why.

Depends what your going for, why not do both ? Supercropping allows for the stems to thicken up and get more nutrients, and tying them to where they pull away from the main stem would help for more light penetration, I believe.
 
After being a daily smoker for over a year, I prefer sativa more then indica. But I always like to have both to feel the contrast.

Basically if I smoke indica for too long I miss being awake and energized, if I smoke sativa for too long I pretty much completely forget the weed body high and smoking an indica is very pleasant.

But overall if I pack 1 bowl of sativa compared to indica the sativa will always hit me faster and feels more intense.

I personally rely on weed to boost my trip, make it come on, or sooth me during panic but many other people tend to respect it alot because of what it does to them and others, making trips turn from manageable to chaotic, for half a decade this has been my failsafe strategy but i've learned recently on bluelight that weed just lays some people out while tripping!

Is anyone on my side here? I see it so rarely granted I do get weed anxiety but it usually just feels like my breathing readjusting from a rather harsh rip, takes some time for my lungs to get comfy again thats about it for the scary stuff :S

I'm with you on this. I hear lots of story of ppl freaking out on weed period! Especially when mixed.
For example. When I roll I rather smoke and feel the effects of the weed(being high ) rather then OMG I'm rolling bawls on 5 pill feeling . I like my eyes heavy not open 8) . The weed calms me down, boosts my high causing me to take less pills, and trust me it cools your body temp. Your heart speeds up a bit for a few min but after I'm smooth sailing.I WILL NOT ROLL UNLESS I HAVE WEED!

I think pot can be mixed (imo) well with any type of drug . Now if you cant handle the high its you.

Pot is the least harmful! And when hanging out with someone if they freak out on weed I will refuse to give them any other type of drug it just scares me that if I give them anything else they will freak the fuck out and hard drugs aren't like weed were you get hungry and passout. Once you take e or acid shrooms and such your going to be high fucked up out of your mind for a while and there's no turning back or calming down .


I just rather smoke then do anything else

They both work equally as well as each other if done right.

Tieing down is less stressful to the plant which is an advantage over supercropping, but once the damaged area around where you snap the stem when supercropping heals and forms a callous, the structures in the stem become strengthened, so this outweighs the initial stress caused by this high stress training technique. Both lower the profile and destroy apical dominance equally well, making the plant shoot out side branches because the tip has been lowered away from dominance.
 
I'm pretty sure one gets higher from coughing because to have coughed you must have taken a toke that is beyond your comfort level.

so it's not the coughing that "makes" you higher (i hate the term "makes" its so magic/archaic) it's the fact that you took a large enough hoot to overwhelm yourself into coughing!

heres another debate topic!

- Are joints worth it? is the free burn significant with actually weed matter lost and is this an indulgent and outdated style of smoking?

my distaste for joints and there inefficiency says YES

if I smoke a whole joint and i don't feel satisfied then i'm left for dead with a roach... if I took a pipe rip and I'm not there yet then by god i'll just load up the pipe again!...with about a third of the weed I used for the joint mind you... also a filterless joint that is smaller than half a gram usually has some serious sucking problems wet lipping and flimsy bent paper drawing ends.

I'm one of the skeptics of the indica/sativa distinction. Distnict strains may exist in the wild, but since every grower is focused on maximizing his/her output, they're going to hybridize as they see fit. Why would an individual grower keep a pure (inferior) wild strain around for years and years? I think it's more likely that when people see the stereotypical characteristics of indica/sativa in a modern hybrid they label it as such, but in truth, any modern strain has been crossed so many times the original wild strains are long lost.

As for visible trichomes, I'm looking at my most recent, frosty-to-the-point-of being-nearly-white, acquisition, but to my surprise it's not as strong as my last batch, which is pretty much regular green. I think there must be something more to it somehow (like the chemical composition of the trichomes?)

I started smoking the the late 70s (yeah, I'm that old) down in SoCal near the border. My memories of the dark, super densely compacted, dank, twiggy stuff, loaded with so many seeds that the seeds outweighed everything else, seem comical today!

Speaking of bong debates, what kind of bong do you prefer?

My favorite is a sort of a modern interpretation of a hookah. It's great because it won't tip over, is easy to clean, and has a decent sized ashtray below the bowl. I've only seen this design once, and will be very sad when mine eventually gives out. :-(
