things i took for granted, never will again

a phone call
a letter
meeting for coffee
just going for a drive

these are some things
i took for granted
till i realised
how special they are

i left before
thinking i can live without them
now i know better
because one can only
go on for so long
before you wish you can
have them again

so if i'm given a chance
to savour them again,
i promise i will not ever
take those for granted again.
