once HBO passed on The Walking Dead.
Really?
lol
I wouldn't be surprised if HBO ends up regretting that decision (if they don't already) in the future. I wonder what line of reason is responsible for the irreconcilable shortcomings HBO saw in Walking. Seems silly to me-- the story almost has intrinsic appeal to zombie and non-zomzbie fans alike; it really speaks for itself. On the other hand, I can respect HBO's reluctance if they lacked the funding that this series deserved.
No matter what excuse they fall back on, it better have been damn good. IMO, unless the show was poorly executed and underfunded, it would be difficult to muck up--there is plenty of room for error. Regardless, for HBO to decline involvement in a series fueled by the most primal qualities of human nature during a zombie-takeover seems off-pudding. This seems right up their alley. Not only are the artistic and philosophical implications alone a worthy point of discussion, but this multi-faceted series has
so much potential.
I'm trying to come up with rock-solid excuses HBO could have used but I keep coming up short. Lol here is one idea: the HBO employees given the task of selecting scripts were hesitant to adopt a storyline without a better understanding of their viewers appreciation for and reception of zombie tv series (what does this say about the difficulties which surround new tv show concepts?).
Walking also exhibits motifs present in HBO's hit-series True Blood, one of which is defined by the animation of lifeless human bodies. It would appear as though HBO was unable or unwilling to overcome/see past the uninformed decisions they made surrounding this project. I don't care
what you say or how you say it: vampires are
not--and never will be--a valid replacement/alternative for beloved zombie-action.

If this was actually the case I'd lose a lot of respect for HBO. I think that if HBO seriously listened to their audience, they'd realize that they are more open to change (although willing to retain old viewing habits) than they are given credit for. The unique qualities offered by the plethora of HBO productions are renowned for their, noteworthy depictions of drama, suspense, comedy, production quality, etc.. that too many are subjectively worthwhile.
Lol why did I just say all this bullshit: I'm distraught because the real tragedy of HBO's decision will never be fully realized; we can only imagine the impact of HBO's budget on Walking. No doubt there would be a more experienced cast, eye candy, attention to detail, etc...
In the end, the general public has long awaited a marriage of zombies and good tv production for too long. HBO couldn't do it, so AMC did. My hats off to them.
tldr:fuck hbo...you make no sense
season finale was absolutely a.m.a.z.i.n.g.
just when you think nothing's lef tyou push harder then you could have ever imagined.
