Television The Walking Dead

^ Man, I could not agree more, but I hadn't read the comics so the diggin holes part was a fucking awesome twist for me.

Last night's episode was def the best yet and I can only seeing it get better and better.

The holes and the fishing scene were kind of a mixed bag for me. As soon as the older sister said to the younger one "You got a bite" I knew she was going to die, and as soon as I saw the ominous graves being dug I knew something really bad was going to happen to the camp.

^^That's because you're a negative nelly. I think that Merle had something to do with the zombies invading the camp. It seems suspicious that they show up soon after he steals their van. Maybe that asshole had them follow him back while he drove. I hope they cut off his other hand.

I also think Merle, as I stated before, had something to do with the zombies or will have something to do with another attack. he either drove really slow to get them to follow him to the camp, or will do it again. I just can't wait to see this final confrontation between Merle VS Rick, if only to see Michael Rooker pull off the part of an asshole so seriously convincing

Probably a little bit. It was an outstanding scene overall, I just don't like it when the foreshadowing is so blatantly obvious that anybody who has taken a college level English course could predict the ending to an outstanding episode.

Otherwise, the entire series has been fucking awesome, so I am not completely negative.

Seriously? You're name-dropping your college education in The Walking Dead thread?

It must be the reason I didn't see it coming. I ain't got of them collige ejimicashins. 8) 8) 8)

Is it so impressive that I have taken English 101 and 102 at community college? I didn't quite think that qualified as name dropping ;)

why are you readin'? fancy book learnin' city folks. :D

in other news, BLAH BLAH BLAH i'm not reading all the spoilers here, gimme a chance to acquire ep 4 first. :p

hehehe, you all never fail to make me laugh. felix - thepiratebay.org has been pretty good with having the torrents up within even a day or two of them coming out

I caught the foreshadowing too, but then again I could be trying to come across as more smart than I actually am. I knew what was going to happen, as soon as Amy (the younger sibling) stated that she had to go to the bathroom - I knew shit was going to get real

upon further dissection of Merle leading the zombies to the camp, I'm thinking this might be wrong. obviously he has a close bond to his brother, and his brother was still in the camp (to his knowledge)

next episode looks to be pretty good as well, apparently the CDC (Center for Disease Control) will have something to do with it. I think it's a good idea, seeing as to how they are based around Atlanta anyways - there really is no way to get around this

as for the people in the bad acting camp - what do you all have to say about Andrea (the older sister's) performance when it went sour for her little sister? too many times actresses try to make scenes like these pretty, meaning they still want to be portrayed in an attractive light. Andrea went all out with spit and snot and crying and gushing, I was quite proud of her performance

dude, i'm a card carrying member of the rapidshare generation, you don't gotsta be worrying about my sorry arse, sorry, ass!

i can only speak american for so long. :\

OMFG i love this show. my hubby and i came back from a little r n r a few weeks ago and the son was raving about it. we have loved it from the first epi. raving about it to everyone. hope it continues. loving the zombie trend, glad it didn't end with the few awesome movies, and books like world war z and pride and prejudice and zombies. and being done so damn well.....happy to see this on network tv.

yea, i'd bet merle actually drew a bunch of the zombies into the back of the van and chauffeured them to camp (although you would assume he'd show up to protect his brother at least...). class act.

ditto on the great acting buy andrea.

and whoever mentioned TBP should be ashamed. i'm with felix on this one--720p versions are up on RS within 20 minutes of the original showing. just gotta know where to look.

I dunno, TPB has always worked for me. I don't know why one should be ashamed to use it?

those trackers are littered with the wrong kinds of people (networks, data miners, gov agencies, etc...).

not to mention the quality is usually shite and the DL/UL speeds are nothing to write home about. find a private HD tracker for quality entertainment.

^ sup egor! I was wondering when a man of such refined tastes as yours would eventually make his way into this thread. have you read the comics yet (you must)?

episode 5 was good, although I am disappointed that we haven't seen Merle make his way back to the camp yet. I do think that he is slated to be a part of the cast in Season 2, so I am comforted in the fact that he will eventually be back

the CDC bit was never in the comic, and I don't like what it was bringing to the table at first (the man's silly video recordings). however, it just makes too much logical sense to NOT have the survivors make a trek to the CDC, which is obviously Atlanta-based

I would also like to know where the "this show's acting is bad" camp is after a second straight episode with solid performances all-around. Shane, the womanizing cop's animosity towards rick, Andrea staying up all night over her fallen little sister then popping a cap, and even Jim's acceptance of the inevitable wasn't too bad

I love the tension and intensity of this show. Frank Darabont is doing a really good job making it seem as if you are surviving with the survivors, so much that you feel their feelings that one of them could die at any given moment

this show has been great to "hold me over" until the monthly installments of the comics. however, I am saddened at the fact that we only have one more ep left :(

I'll assume you are asking me, as I am BL's friendly comic book reading rep

well, I would say that the TV follows about half the comic book storyline (coincidentally, all the really good parts in the show). the Director (Frank Darabont) and comics writer (Robert Kirkman) have both said that the comic book will be the long winding road of the TV series, there just might be some detour storytelling told in-between the events

for example, the covering-in-guts was told in the books. but not the whole Merle or his brother Daryl story (although I quite like those two racist brothers, and the creator Kirkman has said he wishes he could go back in time to add them to the story). while the zombie attack that wiped out most of the characters two eps ago was in the comic, the whole CDC angle was not

which brings me to another point, I am really not liking this CDC angle. I hope that our survivors get there, not learn to much about the zombie outbreak, and then the government attacks or something and they are forced to leave the compound. my favorite part of zombie stories is NOT knowing WHAT caused the zombie outbreak - and Kirkman has said in his comics that he will probably never let us know what caused the zombies

I don't want to come off as a Simpsons-esque comics fanboy, and say that anything not in the comics is bad storytelling. just not true. but I am hoping this CDC angle turns out well, and the show is wrapped up brilliantly. I was not fond of the ending of the last episode

Exactly, I was very disappointed when that scientist appeared in the show. The fact that the show didn't involve any explanations of the infection was its greatest strength so far.
