I FULLY realize there are plenty threads on bluelight about this topic, as well as other similar harm reduction forums across the web. However, I spent a solid amount of time looking, and I could not really find a final consensus.
I am not talking about your personal statement, but ACTUAL medically documented (as in you can provide a legit, cited, scientific/medical source) evidence/concensous.... I have been under the impression that mixing opiates + amphetamines DOES NOT actually have a dangerous or harmful interaction. For example, if you ask your local CVS pharmacist or whatever, they will tell you that it is absolutely fine to mix your prescription adderall + painkillers.
What I have come to gather is that the danger is from one drug masking the effect of the other - and then one wears off, and bam you realize you are actually ODing. This seems like an obvious aspect of it.
But then there is the statements about sending signals to your CNS to slow your heartrate & speed it up at the same time. Now, I think we all know your heart cannot literally speed up and slow down at the same time.
However, even though the pharmacist may say it is perfectly fine, and although there are no "listed interactions" on official sites like drugs.com... it seems like common sense that it has to be at least a little bad for your health. At least in the long run?
I mixed prescribed benzos + prescribed amphetamines basically all through college cause of anxiety and excessive amounts of work/bad organization-time management. I never worried about that, and although neither are GOOD for you.. I never heard any legit/medical words about it being bad for you or having any reason to worry about it. And I didn't/don't. (I finally managed to get off benzos after several years of heavy mis-prescribing. It's a blessing.)
Sooo... Does anyone have "the official" word on amphetamines + opiates, in regards to health/cardiovascular health?
*Oh, and I don't normally take Concerta (I'm prescribed Dexedrine spandule) but I ran out a couple days early - and I have had a hard time motivating/getting things done this summer, so I have been reliant on dem thangs for now.... So, I guess my question applies to Methylphenidate as well. I took about 70mg of Concerta late today, and (I am not physically dependent/addicted to opiates.. use them in modest amounts occasionally for recent depression due to ex girlfriend/stress), and I happen to have a small amount of powder dope...
With this stuff, I just blow small lines. Nothing intense at all.
To reiterate my overall question: Is there ANY INHERENT cardiovascular danger of combining amphetamines (and Methylphenidate in this case) and opiates (insufflating dope in this case)? Mind you, this does not have to apply to the answer of this question - but I am not using excessive amounts of either.
I have mixed before, no doubt... but never in excess. Sometimes with great results. Sometimes with not so good results. I just can't tell the times it has not been so good... tell what is a "placebo/anxiety feelings" of something not being right with my heart-rate/beat/etc. and what is actually a feeling that my body is not down with the combination.
I don't do cocaine (unless I am in South America LOL, that's a different story..), so I am not asking about that. Just what I said.
Just done searching for prior threads, because there is not a single one where people are arguing like they are M.D's about what the answer is to this... Never a final answer.
