come on jg - maybe you're being deliberately obtuse here but you're not this stupid or naive...

of course governments and their agents withhold money and other aid to advance u.s. policy interests. no problem there. when the president does it to advance his own partisan interests (e.g. to improve his chances of being reelected) it's a clear abuse of power.

indeed, it's problematic even if there's no quid pro quo - when the president invites china to investigate a political rival, he's using presidential authority to try to gain a partisan advantage. again, it's a clear abuse of that power.

p.s. why does simply having a difference of opinion or a counter position make the one side 'hysterical'? i don't see any hysteria in the democratic response here.

it's just childish and divisive to use terms like that - hysteria, melt-down, snowflake, etc. - to describe ones opponents in an argument. but maybe that's what you're going for.

Did you read it before you commented on the source??That is the problem. Contempt prior to investigation. This guy is all over the news because of his testimony.

You guys crack me up. Comrades in arms. You're not even talking about news anymore. It's just dismiss and straight to hyperbolic assurances and projections in a flimsy effort to gloss over the truth.... Might want to pick another page than one off of the sinking Trumptanic.

Trumptanics .... :LOL:... I wouldn't waste my time reading anything from LATimes. Why would I do that? LA is a freaking lost town and the corruption is so bad there. Probably not an ounce of truth in any of those articles. Haven't you learned anything about who and who not to trust and where you can find the truth. Let me ask you something... Was there collusion.....yes or no?

Yes....and this particular piece of news is from the top Ukrainian diplomat appointed by Trump not LA... Try again.
 
I find it disheartening to be criticized by people who don’t use sources. 😕

The nature of the testimony being given will eventually be substantiated or not when Trump is impeached. (And here I’m making a distinction here between impeachment and indictment).

@GENGAR Trump is not, imo, fit for office.

It's getting quite clear what's going on now. The whole world is talking about it. Trump supporters support his disastrous sudden pull out of forces with the Kurds... flipping the bird to people we promised to help who have helped us as well. Big win for Turkey and Russia. We shot ourselves in the foot, well, Trump shot us in the foot. If you listen to news from other parts of the world you have to start to believe that the whole world is in on this deep state conspiracy against Trump, to believe this isn;t a disaster. Yet people say "oh it's good because he's pulling our troops out". Yeah. To Saudi Arabia, not home. The damning evidence with the impeachment query has come directly from the mouths of Trump's White House. Threatening to withhold aid unless they investigate a political rival... that's abuse of power. I don't care if you think the guy's corrupt, you can't do that.

Seriously though, is the whole world in on a deep state conspiracy? Or is this administration fucked up and a pretty small number of people with related interests in the United States are trying to make it seem like it's not?

What gets clearer? That the entire Obama administration abused their power when they had it? One that gets me that the left media really wants to shut up about is the Biden and Hunter story. Shove it under the rug as far as possible.. Biden and his threat to withhold US monies to stop the investigation on Burisma by firing the prosecutor.. Then so smugly saying the guy got fired on camera. Yeah.. this one is textbook for abusing power. What do you think?

I watch Fox. Online I go to RTnews, Propublica, The drudge (not so much these days, but used to), american thinker, RCP. Michael Savage is fun to listen to on the radio.

How about you?

It would be quite a long list, but I do read/watch Fox and Propublica. I read stories from Red State and Real Clear Politics, which lean right. On the radio, I rarely listen to talk radio, but I go with NPR when I do.

So I try to at least understand other points of view, even if I disagree with them (unless it’s conspiracy theory stuff, which I find a complete waste of time).
