wow - this... this feels just like my ex-boyfriend. He was always screaming that he was the best thing that would ever happen to me8) . It is really pretty haunting and painful to read. It all rings very true with the intense, draining relationship I had. Good poem, but *ouch*

Yeah, I felt your pain reading this. There's a trail of self-loathing that runs through it... which I could definitely relate to, self-loathing being something I've had to grapple with during some of the low points of my life.

I'm glad to see you're still experimenting with this form, telling a story by running through permutations of a phrase. Once again, you've got the rhyming down pat.

These lines really tugged at me:
