The Sheds - Anyone miss them?

Global Village was 'THE' epitomy of an underground venue. The memories of the place seem so far back. Infact the memories are so far back that I used to got to parties without drugs back then.
Tarsalan: I went to Dune as well, I thought it was very disappointing compared to what else they had there. If my memory serves me correctly, me and my friends spent most of the night in the car. I aslo saw Mark NRG at Turkish Bizarre at the Palace. It was a pretty good night with the most amazing lasers I can remeber (3D helicopters flying around the room - without acid).
Does anyone remember when they used to have the room with all the bed matresses sprawled out all over the floor at Global Village? Shit maybe I should take that comment back, it reveals my old age.
 
Ahhhh the docks i miss them so much I so much would rather a party at the docks then a club

Melbourne park is a good venue though there should be more partys there!!
But the sheds,nothing can beat those sheds

What about the bertie st. warehouse in port melb where they had the last Aurora party? That place has charm...

Ah, yes I do remember the mattresses in the chillout at Global Village. I once slept for an hour on one of those mattresses, in an attempt (successful) to rid myself of a pill induced headache. This was despite the noise, the lights the people etc.
I have a fond place in my heart for Global Village - the parquetry floor was perfect for dancing, and there was so much room - it was sensational. One time they had a chill out room upstairs full of the usual "installations" (read polystyrene painted in fluro colors). Suddenly I felt the urge to hurl and knew there was no way I would get to the bathroom in time, so I had to lean behind one of the installations and hurl there. And nobody even noticed - tell me you could do that in a club venue!
Just to show my age, I didn't even know they had stopped using it.

Aurora was declared the lsat party to be held at bertie st by the council, because of asbestos contamination (i hear). I've heard rumours that the owners didn't even know the place was being used for raves as they are instate.....but they are most likely just that, rumours. I can't remember though if dreamtime 2 was aftre or before aurora, but that was only in the small section anyway.
 
for me, my fav parties have been shed parties
pleasure(claude young), at the fishermans bend shed.

what happend to it?
oh and as for new venues...definatley airport hangars...like i dont think they use the Moorabinn airport do they?
and there is a disused RAAf base out at laverton...so...instead of living in the past lets try to find new venues...honestly i think a hangar would be great...but yeah each to their own...Jeff Mills in litle club..pffft!

What about the Laverton venue used for the last (I think it was the last) EPTAS, that place was enormous and could probably facilitate two large parties at the same time.
Another venue that springs to mind was one in North Melbourne across the road to the North Melbourne Footy club. It's good for smaller parties and it is a warehouse. MUD put that party on but it was very low key, so low key that only about 100 people showed up. I can't remeber anything else about it though.
Also, what about the venue that was used for the first Darklands party with DJ Missiah. It was on Dudely St just before Fetival Hall. I think one of the Madass parties was also held there.

When you've been going to the Docks for as long as I have - well it becomes a second home to you .... So many memories, that place was legendry and I will miss them forever

Yeah the sheds will always hold a special place in my heart, but they were pretty filthy when you remember coming out at 8am in the morning.
To anyone who went to two tribes--> didn't the vodafone arena rock! that was seriously unreal, and i can't wait for God's Kitchen.
Another sweet venue along the same lines as the docks are the new exhibition buildings down by southbank, you know the ones the hold the motor show and stuff in. They would be sick, close to city, full length glass windows, fully enclosed, plenty of height, and room now someone could do things with them!

Mine is a generation that circles the globe in search of something they haven't tried before, so never refuse an invitation or resist the unfamiliar, just keep your mind open and suck in the experience, and if it hurts it's probably good for you. I believe in paradise but now at least i know it's not where you go; it's a way you feel for a moment in your life, if you find that moment it will last forever.....

Ok ok ok seriously I do miss the docks, when there was a good party there I loved the venue, but hey lets face it, they were overdone and overused and before the last party there, almost everyone complained about how shit they were and that they wouldn't miss them. Well now that we can't use them all of a sudden we miss them!?!?!?!!
Now the moral of the story kiddies is this!!! DON'T OVERUSE A GOOD VENUE
PS: If this just sounds like general babble then you're probably right.
 
Slaanesh- yes, darklands, but I think its
was ‘misjah’ as opposed to ‘missiah’.
I know he’s not the most popular dj around
here, but do you remember will-e’s set after
misjah. If I remember right, it was his
first party after coming back from berlin
(where he apparently did some work with
oliver leib!), and after misjah’s very long
set he picked everyone up off the ground.
The place was so dark, + I remember the next
morning finding my face, hands, etc. covered
in black dust.
Ahhh... the days
