The SEX ALLEGATIONS Megathread

I actually found the video amusing, I did like the character of Frank Underwood though. :\

I will add that his flippant attitude to these allegations is pretty disgusting. The whole idea of adopting a character as a way of making an aggressive statement shows that guys like him simply do not live in the real world.

I dont know what it would be like to be him, famous, an award winning actor, a few skeletons in the closet, to be in this strange position with people who just know him as an actor and think they are experts on his private life.

With the whole trial by media and a lot of stories brought to air by sources who can put forward a biased side of stories that all amount to him being a predator.

He has not felt the need to put out there in this time his detailed recollection of instances he wouldnt know he would have to address and that is the problem with being under investigation in things not made public, he appears totally guilty and a scourge of society now so he has lost a lot regardless of if he is that or not.

I guess a response in character is responding to people who see him as a character and not himself.

His sexuality and how he lives his life once by keeping it to himself is his choice, being gay does not mean being gay in the open equals a staunch trustworthy bloke and closeted is seedy and lurid. Maybe he just didnt think it was anybody's buisness what he did and didnt want to be pestered about it. Maybe he just didnt have the need to overshare his personal life and the privacy encouraged rumours.

I wish things like this were treated like anyone who did not attract headlines so the guilty faced punishment like any other but if not guilty did not lose their career, standing in their industry and whole future taken down just because it seems everyone wants him to be this sicko.

I dont know if he is, I dont know if there is some kind of snowball effect and any type of personal encounter can come back to haunt him because of the trial by media he has had.

The guy who was at the bar, he said he was of age. He was star struck. Who knows if Spacey is a sexual assaulted or if it was reciprocated or totally unexpected come on as the guy might not have known Spacey is gay and interested in him. People buy each other drinks all the time.

I dunno, benefit of the doubt is lacking. Sad. Spacey could be burdened with looking creepy as he was not outwardly gay and being gay means he could just make moves on men who dont reciprocate and dont think he was gay to try.

It would suck to have this gross charactetisation and know theres nothing that can be done so I hope all the people who make allegations take a turn under oath and he responds in kind, until then hes screwed anyway and possibly legally unable to defend himself so screw it, the video makes sense.

Oh gawd, did ya’ll see him walking into court with a damned Zimmer frame?
Can’t half tell where this is heading

Weinstein took advantage of women for his own desires. Weather he forced himself on women we will never know.

I do believe that these women let Weinstein take advantage, they wanted a career behind the silver screen at whatever cost. The famous old casting couch.

I do think that the balance is way off these days. It seems that as soon as a woman crys rape it must be true, there's no more innocent until proven guilty. There are many women who for their own agendas, make up allegations of rape.

Nobody seems to care about the men who have been wrongly accused. These guys must go through hell, there are always people who will believe allegations even if they're proven wrong. I can think of words like "there's no smoke without fire" and "mud sticks." Can you imagine what it would be like if you had an old girlfriend/boyfriend accuse you of such things?

I'm not taking away the seriousness of rape as I know all too well what rape does to women. My niece was raped at the age of 11.

Rape is a terrible thing but so is wrongly accusing a man of such acts. You never see women being prosecuted for this which is not good for deterring others from doing the same. We obviously don't want to put women off of coming forward when they have been raped, but we also don't want to encourage others to lie because there's no punishment for it. It's a disgrace to women who have been through the hell of rape to have women make up such things, they should be made an example of.

Its not rape if you're doing it for your career and keep going back. But maybe there's some he did forcefully take. With his money he will never be sent to prison

All 80+ of the women weren’t actresses or models. He raped/sexually assaulted/harassed/behaved inappropriately with non-famous women too (allegedly 🙄). You just don’t hear about them because they aren’t famous.
It’s why it’s actually important for famous women to speak up. Because they actually get heard.

coerced consent is not consent. he doesn't have to physically force himself on women for it to be rape, the threat against their careers and livelihood if they say no makes consent in those situations impossible, and sex without valid consent is better known as "rape"

You quite right. I don't quite understand what your getting at. We don't know all the details as we were not there were we?

Theres no doubt these things did happen, but how many actually knew the score and consented to sex to advance their careers? There is a difference. How many jumped on the band wagon because they regretted what they did,not because they were raped, because they lowered themselves for money and fame? That's what I'm getting at.

Rape is not acceptable. My niece was raped, the same little girl I saved from drowning. Im not defending Weinstein at all. I'm trying to highlight that rape is used to get at people,to destroy lives. Not everyone who crys rape has actually been raped, now what about those that have been accused of such things, aren't they victims?

I'm trying to highlight the seriousness of rape.

you don't have to be there, the power dynamics make consent impossible

there is no such thing as consent when you have power or authority over the other person

Fuckin hell I give up. You're not listening and just fixated on your opinion. I just wrote a fucking long message to explain but you quite clearly have your head up your arse. You're one of those who likes to be right about everything.

You're right...I already said that didn't I? Am I not right too? Maybe I shouldn't have replied in this particular thread. I've noticed this in bluelight, there are members who love to be right no matter what others say, their opinions are absolute. Lo and behold anyone who expresses theirs.

I now remember why I stopped posting on this forum. Its filled with people with inflated egos, self importance, narrow mindedness and those who like to flex their intellectual muscles.

Maybe you're a feminist that doesn't particularly like men because of some inferiority complex, therefore will always argue the toss.

Now stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

human rights violations are human rights violations whether you agree or not. I make no apologies for being able to see through bullshit and pro-rape weasel words and calling out them for what they are

Rapist are rapists. Where in my replies do I say I agree with rape? Please point it out.

The whole thread is about sex allegations,is that not right? So a woman can make false allegations is that not right? Or do women never lie?

Let's get off the whole Weinstein thing. The dirty cunt is guilty and will be prosecuted accordingly...That's that.

I know what rape does to women,my niece was raped (that's the third time I've pointed this out.) I managed to get the guy and gave him a good beating. When I asked why he did it he said it happened to him as a child by his parents and he wanted to see what it was like to do it to someone else. So please show me where that makes me pro-rape? You really insult me.

I had a friend who was falsely accused of rape by his ex because who he cheated on her. He was arrested and put through hell,he lost many friends and word got round. People ignored him and he got a beating. The ex could see it had gone too far and retracted her statement. She was cautioned for wasting police time and moved away. He on the other hand has been mentally effected and tried to take his life.

There's always two sides to a coin.

Trump says he was 'never a fan' of Harvey Weinstein, says Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton 'loved him'

USA Today said:
NEW DELHI – President Donald Trump said Tuesday he was "never a fan" of Harvey Weinstein and told reporters that Democrats should return campaign money they collected from him.

"I was never a fan of Harvey Weinstein," Trump told reporters in India, where he is on a 36-hour trip. "I was just not a fan of his. I knew him a little bit. The people that liked him were the Democrats. Michelle Obama loved him. Hillary Clinton loved him."

A jury in New York found Weinstein guilty on Monday of a first-degree criminal sexual act and third-degree rape but acquitted him on the two most serious charges of predatory sexual assault and one charge of first-degree rape.

The split verdict followed a weeks-long trial featuring graphic testimony from six of the movie mogul’s tearful accusers.

Weinstein will be sentenced on March 11. He faces a prison sentence of at least five years and possibly as long as 25 years. The acquittal on the most serious charges spared him the possibility of life in prison.

The New York trial is considered historic because it's the first major celebrity sex-crime trial of the #MeToo era. It culminated more than two years of world-wide condemnation of Weinstein and scores of other powerful men in multiple industries for an array of alleged crimes and misconduct.

Trump himself has faced allegations of sexual misconduct. At least 20 women have accused him of sexual misconduct or inappropriate behavior dating as far back as the 1970s. He has never been charged with a crime involving any of those allegations.
