Updated. Note that if you weren't really specific with your recipe I didn't include it. Also note to anyone posting recipes... give them a name! Sometimes I don't know what they are so I have to call them 'veggie dish' or whatever.

does anyone have any recipes for chicken breasts with rosemary? i started an herb garden yesterday and all the spices i can use but not sure how to use the rosemary. thanks

Take your chicken breasts, cube them up... about 1" cubes would be great. Get some great fresh tomatoes, olives, whatever veggies you like. Dice up anything large to the same size as the chicken. Skewer the chicken and veggies with the rosemary (use the whole stick).

Put em on the grill and brush with a little herb marinade (Italian dressing will work in a pinch) but what I like to do is just chop up a little fresh thyme and parsley and throw it into some extra-virgin olive oil. Keep brushing them as you turn them on the grill. Delicious, I promise.

^ that does sound good but we dont have a grill right now. soon though :D

yay for chrissie !!! :)

Yummy *easy* fried chicken nuggets

I made this today because I wanted fried nuggets but I didnt want to go through the whole flour egg breading mess to coat them.

I took flour and mixed it with a lot of Season All and dipped the chicken pieces in it. Fried them up and sprinkled a bit more Season All over the nuggets. Yum!

Jewish Chicken Stuffing

My grandma has made this for years and I loooove it. Its fairly dry, very unlike Stovetop. Not everyone likes it that I have made it for...but the people that like it LOVE it :)

2 cups matzoh meal (found in kosher aisle of grocery store)
1.4 cup all purpose flour
salt to taste
pepper to taste
Paprika (also to taste, i use a LOT)
1.2 cup chicken fat (not sure where to buy this other than we buy it at the kosher butcherie. BUT you could get 1.2 cup of oil from frying up some onions mixed within then drain onions)

Blend this all together.

Yep it sounds weird, yep i doubt a lot of people will think it sounds good but damn i love it :)

Also anyone have an recipies for making a "sweet" chili? I'm not sure how to describe it.
Just make a chili from scratch, leave out the chili powder, but put in some brown sugar and red onions perhaps

Anyone have any recipies for a whole wheat pizza crust?

Any whole wheat bread recipe will do. Just roll it out however thick you like your crust, add your sauce & toppings, and bake in a hot (400 or so) oven. If you've got a bread machine, it's really easy. Even if you don't it's not rocket science.

This got me to thinking... California Pizza Kitchen had a pie (maybe they still do) that used a whole wheat crust that had a touch of honey in it... I forget the toppings they put on it, but I remember it being delicious. Maybe some braised pork shoulder and caramelized onion, I think that would be pretty good.

Also anyone have an recipies for making a "sweet" chili?I'm not sure how to describe it.

Like Cincinnati-style chili (think Skyline), or just Texas bowl o' red but sweet instead of hot?

Noodle Pudding

This is not the desert style pudding most of you will think of when seeing the name.

This recipe has been in our family forever and we all love it. I just made some myself for the first time and it reminded me how much I like it so here ya go.

Youll need:

9 X !3 Pyrex dish

1/4 cup sugar (maybe a little more if youd like it a bit sweeter)
6 eggs
3/4 tspn kosher salt
1lb small curd cottage cheese
1 pint sour cream
1lb med. width egg noodles
1/4 lb butter
1/4 cup milk (preferably whole)
1 1/4 cup crushed corn flakes
12 turns of fresh ground pepper (sorry we use a grinder so im not sure what it equals to in measurements...its really just to taste though)

  • Preheat oven to 375. Melt butter in dish.
  • Boil Noodles
  • Once noodles are boiled empty water, add 4 eggs beaten, 1lb cottage cheese, 1 pint sour cream, 1/4 cup sugar. Add salt & Pepper as well
  • Make sure all above ingredients are mixed well
  • Pour into pyrex dish, let it stand for 10 mins to settle in.
  • Beat 1/4 cup of milke and the last 2 eggs and pour over the top.
  • Sprinkle corn flakes over the top
  • Bake for 1 hour @ 375

Cut in squares, rectangles, triangles...whatever :D

You can eat this warm out of the oven, microwaved leftovers ( i prefer this lol) or cold. Its yummy!

Hot wings:

Deep fry desired amount of wings.

Melt some butter. Do not use margarine.
Pour in some Frank's Red Hot. Add some Tabasco for heat. Whisk it all together.

Shake wings in sauce, serve.

Beer Bread

3 cups flour
12oz/350ml beer (about a bottle)
3 tablespoons sugar

Preheat oven to 190*C. Combine all the ingredients, mixing well. Pour into a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan and bake for about an hour.

This stuff is seriously good, I was eating it just like cake. ;) Just some words about my experience-- it was very dense, very delicious. But a tad sweet for me and a little too hard-- next time I'll put in less sugar and bake it for less time.

It's the closest thing to cheating in the kitchen, I think. :)
