Do you ever just feel alone?
Like no one notices you
Like the towering spires hide you
As the setting sun bleeds through their cracks.
Alone, like an empty ship on unknown seas,
Lost forever in the ebbing tides of time,
We are alone my friend
Children forgotten by God
Left to bring ourselves onto the higher plain
Like a dove, transparent and beautiful.
And in our uncompromising, faultlined lives
We forget one another
And therefore bring about our bane.
We are the reasons for our pain
Like a nail penetrating flesh
Our belligerence pierces our souls.
Bleeding onto the earth like a slow eating poison.
Like no one notices you
Like the towering spires hide you
As the setting sun bleeds through their cracks.
Alone, like an empty ship on unknown seas,
Lost forever in the ebbing tides of time,
We are alone my friend
Children forgotten by God
Left to bring ourselves onto the higher plain
Like a dove, transparent and beautiful.
And in our uncompromising, faultlined lives
We forget one another
And therefore bring about our bane.
We are the reasons for our pain
Like a nail penetrating flesh
Our belligerence pierces our souls.
Bleeding onto the earth like a slow eating poison.
