I lived in the Northern Territory/ Kimberley region for 6 years and in my opinion the ocean/river's produce some of the best fishing in the world. I do have photo's but i don't have a scanner so i can't put them up unfortunately :(

Fish species caught up there include:

Barramundi
Mangrove Jack
Red Emperor
Sharks
Trevally
Billfish
Tuna
Mackerel
Blackspotted Tuskfish
Estuary Cods
Dolphin Fish (Mahi-Mahi)
Barracuda
Queenfish
Northern Mulloway

Great Fishing!

I caught a bluegill , when I was about 6, but my mom felt bad for it and I had to throw it back. To this day, its the only fish I've ever caught. [Well, not ever going fishing contributes to that.]

the first, and only time ive been fishing, was 2 years ago.

Deep Sea fishin in Portugal 7 miles off the Algarve coast by praia da rocha.

caught about 12-15 biiig mackrel, a few smaller (about arms length) marlin/swordfish type things,
some smaller fish of some kind, and i was the only person in that area who caught a Dorado (mahi mahi) the whole year apparently.

and the captain gave out crates upon crates of free beer, and had a sack of weed and hash on the bridge he let me smoke from!

all in all a great first fishing trip!
no pics unfortunately but id definitely do it again!

and yo, id only put the fish back in the water if it was in a good enough state, ie- no ruptured lungs (due to pressure changes), and no ripped mouth etc.
doesnt it make you feel good to not kill everything you catch?
:)

Trout season has not started yet - not for a few more weeks anyway. But when it does roll around it's BALLS TO THE WALL.

^Brown & rainbow season is on around here, but only the rivers are open; all the lakes still have 12"-16" of ice on them dammit.

hehe i was so wasted that all i really have as a memory from that trip is shakey footage of my blood covered shirt, my cousins ass (why?) and fish guts lmao

I had a go on the fly for pellet pigs last week but alas no luck, weather was shitty the next day so I suspect atmospheric pressure must have been dropping.

i caught a very nice flathead and a heap of good size black bream my first time river fishing recently, i've been fishing saltwater for most of my life.

black bream

flathead - they have nasty spikes on their gill cover and on their dorsal fins, also have some spines that cause some serious pain.
