Elsewhere on BL, someone wrote that APAP has a water solubility of 12.78 mg/mL. Let's say that the water solubility of oxycodone is X mg/mL. Does that mean every mL of water added to a mixture of APAP and oxycodone will solvate 12.78 mg of APAP and X mg of oxycodone? I feel like it wouldn't be that simple, but it could be a useful approximation.

Yes it is in fact quite simpe. It does become more complex when you include other variables, however this is not necessary in most cases. Oh but temperature is of course.

Sometimes the presence of two solutes makes the less-soluble solute even less soluble, but I think you have to have a lot of the more soluble thing. Does that make sense? Like if you saturate a glass of water with salt, and then add some sugar to it, the sugar will not readily dissolve I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
