^ thanks man.
it's funny, i figured that detroit are going to do everything they can to ensure they don't finish 0-16 which means beating no at home or gb away. i almost took detroit this week also but i figured their finishing 0-16 was more likely

Alasdair,
I trust that you know how much I respect your intelligence, so I'm a bit surprised with your line of reasoning with respect to this issue, so shall ask you this:
Why do you think that your opinion that:
"detroit are going to do everything they can to ensure they don't finish 0-16"
has any relevance whatsoever?
Do you really think that they're going to try any harder to avoid their 15th (and potentially, 16th) loss than they have tried to avoid any of their first fourteen losses?
I ask this sincerely - not trying to be a wise-ass.
It just so happens that I regularly hear this type of argument from other people whose opinions I also respect, and I just don't understand it, as it is my personal opinion that, generally speaking, athletes at the highest levels tend to try very very hard virtually all of the time (yes, I concede there are exceptions).
So, in my opinion, when a team goes 0-14, it's typically because they're THAT BAD - not because they haven't been trying up until this point, and that all of a sudden, they're going to start trying harder NOW.
