The New Testament - What I Now Know

The bible is a collection of books written by multiple people inspired by GOD to portray history claiming truth and knowledge of existence.
So basically the Old Testaments were kind of like a history lesson on what happened before GOD came in the flesh as Christ. Well... It's not the
worldly history lesson but its mostly focused around the history of the bloodline of where Jesus came from.
Now the New Testament is where GOD decides it's time to offer salvation for mankind....
It's also written in books by multiple writers. Remember this is 4 separate books, Matthew Mark Luke John. All written to portray history, and the Real Biography of Jesus Chris.
That's why they all have the same exact stories, and that's why its such an authentic feel.
Now Paul wrote most of the other important books in the NT, and he teaches a little different than Jesus. but alot of people was never taught this.
I go to a Theology School and a regular reader don't really catch on to this.
It's that JESUS and Paul had different audiences.
You gotta remember that Jesus was preaching to the JEWS and Paul had a personal revelation and encounter with the already glorified person of Jesus Christ and was directly given the order to preach to the GENTILES.
that's what Jesus preached law and Paul preaches grace.
Most people in the world are gentiles (meaning common people).
you gotta remember, when Jesus was speaking to his disciples, he wasn't speaking to you, he was speaking to a Jewish man.
Everything has to do with bloodline basically.
Jesus was preaching Law to the Jews as a prophesy of what he was going to fulfill on the cross.
We got two things to do in the world and its not hard, Love God and absolutely love everyone else.
Think about it, Everybody shouting "gimme evidence of God's existence!!!" well God gave you the evidence already.
Look at the Characters in the bible, they are the most famous people in the world, more famous than any other celebrity that the world tries to come up with.
and think about it!!
I DOUBT we would be running on a JESUS Calendar year/time system if Jesus really didn't exist or God wasn't real (thus he wouldn't even set up time[the thing he created] after himself).
How can someone have the whole world's time revolve around them and also be the most famous person in the entire world if they didn't exist.

LOL - so you're saying because the Church is successful it must be true? Because we are all fed the bible for years before we are old enough to indulge in critical thinking, all those people must have been real?

The calendar was created by Pope Gregory to replace the Julian calendar. The choice of BC/AD was because it was a religious person ordering the calendar to be made. And even then, the origin date was a guess. The Christ definitely was NOT born on Christmas day and the guesstimates for his year of birth range across about 15 years.

Perhaps God should have 'inspired' the calendar as well? :D

Plus, those '4 separate books' have clear connections, meaning this is not a case of 4 people each telling something they experienced. Plus there were far more than just those 4 books - Constantine, Emperor of Rome in 300AD was having problems because those loving Christians were killing off anyone who didn't believe EXACTLY[/Y] what the guy with the knife believed. They even fought between different sects of Christianity.

It was tearing the Empire apart.

So he held a big meeting where they threw out anything saying the Christ was just a man and kept everything that said he was the son of god - it gave him Godly authority and he created the Christian Church - and he wasn't even a Christian himself! :D

Not exactly 'inspired by God' methinks...

Ok, that settles the debate. Because Jesus' celebrity is comparable to Kim Kardashian's, he must have been God! Thanks for clearing that up. ')

Funny thing about unicorns; they have a certain perennial mythology to them, but absolutely did not exist. Hmm. :D

Sorry, but there is not much evidence that you or anyone can provide that (up to this point) demonstrates the existence of god. There is too much denying it. Given the last 2000 years of bloody god fearing and this cultures decline in the last 150 (as education improves, hygiene, infant mortality, life expectancy), I would have to say that both belief in god and its existence is entirely irrelevant and actually destructive. Widespread belief in god has contributed very little to the people who need the most, and has, in fact, taken a lot from them.

I DOUBT we would be running on a JESUS Calendar year/time system if Jesus really didn't exist or God wasn't real (thus he wouldn't even set up time[the thing he created] after himself).

History is written by victors. Do you honestly think that the the roman calendar is in anyway indicative of universal time? It is purely arbritary, based on the hypothesised death of jesus and its still not even accurate. Jesus wasn't born on AD 0.

The reason we use this calendar in the western world is because the roman catholic church decided. Not god. The church systematically destroyed all other native cultures and replaced it with their own. We hold to their measuring of time because they won the war, not because Jesus existed. It is a real fallacy to conflate the existence of a calendar with the existence of god, but it does have a certain beauty and cohesion; if a calendar, ascribed to god, is made up, perhaps it also follows that the god is too?

But, of course, you will have to explain the numerous other calendars used throughout the world by Hindu;s, orthodox christians, jews, muslims, sikhs, and so on. Are they all right?

The Beatles are still more popular than Muhammad... :D

Nobody has to tell you to like the Beatles or die. And you can stop liking the Beatles and still get to live.

Do not read the teaching of Paul. He was a false prophet and his words are blasphemy. He may have even been the antichrist.

OP, I agree with several of your points, however your assertion that Mark must be fictional because of the literary "style"....I'm not understanding. It is very much part of a larger story, so is it really surprising that it reads like a story? That doesn't mean its fictional. I could weave a tall tale about a gigantic hurricane and retell the story in a particular style, but this style could not be used to determine if the story were true or not.

Jesus could have been the authors personification of his idea of God in a metaphorical sense, not a literal sense.
Perhaps, but it sure does read like a play-by-play account of a series of concrete events. This isn't an obscure piece of poetry.

The story of Titus waging war on the Jews reads like a play-by-play account of a series of concrete events.. The gospels of Mark, Luke, Matthew and John most definitely do not..

No other historian writes in this way.. Josephus Flavius, Livy, Tacticus, etc etc

Not only that but it's obvious that Mark used the old testament to construct Jesus' life and events..
