Covid-19 The New Covid Megathread v.Oh-my-cron!

Back in isolation again. Had to get a test on Christmas day because I checked into an exposure site at some point during the week. The wait time was 80 minutes. No shade. I'm surprised I didn't get burnt. Was hungover as fuck when I woke up. Had to do a mountain of presents from Santa for all the kids then I got this text message saying I have 24 hours to get tested or else. 24 hours? What if I'm in the middle of the desert? What if my phone is off?

Do I keep using QR codes to check in? I'm conflicted about it. I don't want to keep isolating like this every month or so.
This is a voluntary thing? The checking in app?

It's not voluntary. I just pretend to check in (hold up a phone for a second to the QR code) if they're watching me. Most of the time they don't pay any attention and I don't even pretend. There is no point me checking in anywhere. I'm triple jabbed and I had COVID a couple of weeks ago. I'm not fucking isolating again.

@Electrum1

Most people in SA have already had the virus.

Case numbers in Australia are starting to drop. Supposedly, we are past the peak of the omicron wave. I'm a bit wary at this point to believe anything, but I'm optimistic.

SA - deaths per million ~1,600
Australia - deaths per million ~124

I don't know if Australia (and NZ) will maintain our relatively low numbers or not. My suspicion is we will never see numbers like the US and the UK with omicron because it isn't very deadly. So, the vaccines probably saved a bunch of lives. I honestly don't know anymore. How many lives has all this fucked up in the process?

There is often nobody to look after disabled people or elderly people because when somebody contracts the virus (even if the entire workplace is triple jabbed) we all have to isolate... this means severely disabled people - who sometimes take years to develop trust - are looked after by agency workers who have never met them before. This is the best case scenario. There have been many situations - all over the world - of people without adequate care because of the government supposedly protecting them.

Here's an article I read this morning that struck me as particularly ridiculous, if that's even possible in this increasingly crazy world.

Why the fuck is an elderly indigenous person isolating under a tree?

They should focus less on punishing people and restricting freedoms and focus more on helping people.

tldr, plus you quoted the wrong person :)

That's easy. There's me. And the other one lol.

He's arguably crazier maybe, I mean outwardly, "popularly", I'm guessing (?)

We do both come out with the wildest stuff though on a daily I admit.

I'm less flippy myself. I try to focus on little projects, ideas, themes. Explore, test out.

And modify, amend, or ditch with re-appraisal.

I'm ready to re-appraise.

it's all dogma now. like a religion. science has become a religion. bureaucrats are the new priests. it doesn't matter if it's right or wrong, we believe in science and the words of the priest are gospel.
I got to be honest, I think the what's going on now has parallels with the fear based medieval era of Catholic church rule and I don't think that is a coincidence. Using the fear of something the ordinary person can't see or verify, in conjunction with vaguely plausible connected physical symptoms, all wrapped up in a dogma and a science that again the ordinary person can't verify or conduct themselves.

Virology is horseshit. Germ theory is horseshit. We've had our real fears of illness and death co-opted by the ruling class who have done everything possible to shut out any competition to medical theory and their dominance over it, so that they can hawk their overpriced products back to the public who are kept in a state of semi-illness through continuous cycles of psychological terrorism through the TV and with toxic diets/environments that place strain on the bodies ability to detoxify itself (the real cause of disease, not pathogens!). Funny how all through this nonsense none of the skeletons in the UK House of Lords have perished, the Queen is still alive, the Pope, and all the other coffin dodging elite scumbags the world over too. But some fucking obese meatloaf dies and everyone believes it's covid lol..

Over a trillion dollars have been spent over the past two years on shitty plastic masks, vaccines that don't vaccinate, testing kits, all sorts of bullshit magic beans. They could have spent less than 1% of that getting vitamin and mineral supplements out to everyone and I guarantee you'd see a decrease in illness and death across the board.

It's a scam. They're selling your ignorance and fear back to you.

30-40% of people in the hospitals there with COVID are reported to be there for other reasons.
Finally some official numbers regarding this, we knew this for weeks already. Hope my country (Belgium) follows suit soon, they won't though.

All comes back to the testing, which is straight up fraud and one of the key pillars of this scam.

@-=SS=- Since you have always kept abreast the reasons why numbers are so skewed and pointed out what happened in those first two months, I looked into the Canadian reported numbers and found a 5k correction downward in cases. It looks very much like all reported case numbers were over reported in the first two months. Our senior deaths are too spread out to show up but stats Canada took down death statistics and replaced them with "provisional numbers", so you can't really check easily.

Today anyone who has 2 or more vaccines cannot be tested unless they are front line workers or a few small groups. As a result all positive tests in Canada are now unvaccinated. Unless you require hospitalization they won't test you if you are double vaccinated. So there goes seeing how useful the vaccine is but still passports are mandated.

Obvious policy to fiddle numbers really iritate me, now I have to waste my time chasing down a why and who is profiting off me this time!

The fiddling with the monetary system is so horrifying. Right now our own governments are watching their own countries burn for profit and partially just due to ignorance. We elected pretty boys with good speech writers who simply hired advisors and the milking began.

I am aware this is a Covid thread but the more I look at this the more I believe it is really just idiots profiting off a system of fear that just keeps working.

Perhaps the first step is just stop feeding it. We have always had a buddy with the flu, finally we are getting proper sick days and don't even need to think about work if we are ill. I am older and and was forced in to work despite illness often, forced vaccines? Not so bright, but forced stay home workers is a huge triumph.
