Covid-19 The New Covid Megathread v.Oh-my-cron!

Every single member of my extended family has been at least double jabbed, including many people in their 70s, 80s and 90s. Not a single person had a significant adverse reaction.

I do know a guy who ended up in the hospital from the clotting caused by the AZ jab. He was in the paper. His case was very rare. Somebody has to know him. It doesn't mean anything.

all these stories seem to come from people who staunchly oppose vaccination.

as the saying goes, you do the math...
This is just projection on your part because you don't want to acknowledge the fact thousands of people have been injured and killed from these jabs.

As the saying goes, whoever smelled it dealt it.

omricon dying out in south africa and it killed off delta
I do think a weaker version will burn it out more. It will all pass as will everyone's very LOUD opinion. lol

One thing that irritates me with the vaccine is the self rightious attitude some people have. Similar to if you accept Jesus as your savior you can now go out and be an asshole. Some peope sit on such a high thrown because hey they got the vaccine. Something to hide behind. Now they can point to everyone elses sins. lol

I have expressed my opinion. I was very hesitant with the vaccine and still feel I could have not gotten it. But I did because I am around older people I have to care for and if anything I can say I took all protection offered. My personal opinion is the vaccine is a nothingburger. It will kick up some antibodies (or not) and then disintegrate. My body will rid itself of it and be done. I also know they can be risky for some people and I hope everyone stays well and takes care of their body.

IF anyone is interested Googling "what ended the Black Plague" leads to some web pages of how a lot of pandemics died out. Antibiotics today prevent things like bacterial illnesses like the Black Plague. But wow is that interesting. One of the plagues left us because of the concept of quarantining.

Lots of drama with this stuff but keep an open mind. Nothing would surprise me but my beliefs are simple until I can get details. A microscopic virus as well as a microscopic vaccine has the imagination running on all cylinders. Don"t make yourselves crazy over it. Go for a walk and have a smoke. LOL

Words to live by (although clearly you haven’t had a look at the Social Sciences lately - ethnography and, God forbid, self-ethnography is all the rage. If you question Standpoint Theory (as a 50 year straight old white man) you are doomed…

I don't get it. The concept of positionality - as derived from theories like standpoint theory - is not about undermining the scientific method or extirpating the notion of scientific objectivity or the value of quantitative data or analysis from research (if that's what you're implying, which is kinda how I read your comment). Rather, the intent is to enhance awareness of ('uncover') often hidden or obscured aspects of the dialectic that will always exist between researchers and their data sources, and which will inevitably frame the construction of 'knowledge' from that data. The idea being that through awareness of those relationships, we can collect better data and construct more useful and reliable theory and knowledge. It's an idea that naturally has more salience in some fields than others, but is still relevant almost everywhere.

Isn't it odd how anti-vaxxers had this theory that doctors were over estimating the deaths from covid... aka the joke that someone gets hit by a bus but their death is attributed to covid.

Now every time someone dies that's had the vaccine it's OMG VACCINE!

Same exact thing only now it suits their purposes.

Yup. That's what sets off my own BS meter as well. I live in one of the most highly-vaccinated areas of the US. I think we're over 85% now for adults, and close to 80% if you include the kids. I literally can't think of anyone I know who's not vaccinated... and just one who was stubborn and waited a few months. My second shot and booster both gave me hangovers that made me glad I got them on Fridays. But this year's flu shot was actually worse for me. Some friends who had Moderna (I had Pfizer) had worse hangovers than I did. But no one's dropped dead, or had their testicles swell up to grapefruit-size, or become autistic, or birthed an autistic child, or showed any signs of stigmata or the mark of the beast, or any of the other hyperbolic nastiness that... somehow... only seems to affect friends of the anti-vaxers. The worst any of us got from the shots was a crummy weekend.

So you don't know anybody who's had an adverse reaction to the vaccine and i don't know anybody who's even ended up in the hospital from covid

they just ended up with a crummy weekend too

what a coincidence

Just out of curiosity?" How much would you say one ivermectim capsule is worth USA pharmacy grade, you only need 10, twice a day for 5 days? I'm just curious

Not much.

If looking at alt covid therapies fluvoxamine has a lot more scientific evidence for preventing severe infections.

Ivermectins a meme these days.

Hcq is old hat. Once people put it in a well designed trial it ate shit. Imo those drugs are only good for ripping off people who want to buck the herd.

i will get fluvoxamine , if you think it's smart, ivermectin does work, it keeps your lung from filling up, and will keep you off a venehiliatir. 5 days covid is gone.!! and most pharmacist wont fill it.

Doubt. But not tryna have this debate rn. Boutta eat some short rib ragout and pasta.

I'll believe a study about ivermectin that's been peer reviewed and has enough statistical power to say anything.

Here's the one that got me excited about fluvoxamine:
