Haha, like he literally just proved trying to have a rational debate with him is like putting your dick in a blender…Why would I want to do that?
No.

Right, that's the reason he gave for why he said what he said.- This was during a mask shortage, healthcare workers need them more than average people
- We all know that masks aren't perfect protection, we've always known, but they do help a little
regardless of the inconsistencies, this is no reason to plug this into any hatred of the man or any wild conspiracies
This is the first pandemic in modern times, of course we aren't going to have it all figured out in the first month or two
He's speaking like a leader should IMO, I have no issue with this, and health guidance changes every day about everything not just pandemics
It was like this everywhere man. Telling on how they see regular people (dumb and forgetful). We know for a fact that the government knew what the nature of this disease was as early as February 7th, 2020, because Trump discussed the nature of the disease transmission with a journalist at that time*. We also know that from VERY VERY early in the pandemic some nations (in east Asia, for example) were drawing the appropriate lessons from SARS in 2003 and advising that people wear masks in an attempt to reduce transmission. So the nature of the problem and a potential way of mitigating the problem were apparent pretty much from day 1, yet people in Trump's administration felt the need to BS the American people instead of shooting straight with them.
Yes like Wa Poo: OMGWTF THE USA WILL HAVE A CIVIL WAR!!1Washington post is the most mainstream US propaganda paper ever.
I can pull up the most insane headlines within seconds.
Here's an extremely rare occurrence from yesterday of a U.S. reporter showing self awareness and introspection related to the Joe Rogan "Covid misinfo" freakout on social media lately:COVID has just fucked everyone over. Pretty much everyone has become a more extreme version of themselves, you see it in politicians, media, people, myself too.
i particularly dislike the role media played in all of this, they were pretty much a direct mouthpiece for every Western government. Originally, they were searching for ways that everyone would listen and follow the rules, and with the help of psychologists and the media they did exactly this.
But throughout the pandemic, it seemed like no mainstream outlets returned to what they're supposed to be, namely the fourth power. So like any dissenting voice that even remotely questioned the directions and decisions either never got any attention, or was simply attacked into oblivion, while probably asking for censoring/stepping down as well.
I'm sure this is the main cause of people being more extreme against COVID and vaccines, I understand faith in the media in the US was already low but this wasn't as much the case in Europe. But they bungled all of this so hard that there almost seems no way back. There doesn't even seem to be any indication that they even remotely understand this or wanna change directions.

WP & CNN are just as guilty as their counterparts. As far as being bias, yet they always seem to be right up there in the first links when you search google…weird..I bet is just another one of those damned coincidenceYes like Wa Poo: OMGWTF THE USA WILL HAVE A CIVIL WAR!!1
How do you know it's preventing healthcare workers from catching something? This is the problem you see, everyone already assumes aerosol transmission, and transmission itself, is actually a reality without having first confirmed it. We get ill after being around someone else who is ill and assume something was transmitted between, but correlation is not causation.if it's not that effective and preventing the general public from catching covid, why is it preventing healthcare workers from catching it?
is it because they're in close proximity to the infected?
yeah but he DID say that in the video, I was quoting him verbatim, it's in the video - you are talking about two different time points in the videoThat's what he SHOULD have said, rather than saying "right now there's no reason for people to be walking around wearing masks"
Man, I follow you for the first bit - but once you get to intentionally misleading the public... like I explained, politicians do it all the time, but ultimately misleading for what goal? what was his goal here?I'm not into hatred or wild conspiracy theories either, I just think that it's a serious error in judgement on his part. Again, and I can't stress this enough: this was not simply a case of guidance being revised as additional data became available. THAT would have been completely understandable. This was a case of the the government KNOWING something to be true (i.e., that the virus was primarily spread through the air and thus that masks have at least the potential to mitigate that to some degree), and then INTENTIONALLY trying to deceive and mislead the public. That's what Fauci was trying to do, and that's what the surgeon general was attempting to do with that post on social media.
I would probably vomit and shit myself to death if I lived in the same reality as you >_<Snafu does not live in the same reality as the rest of us…
