The mysterious stank of opi WD

So, I've heard most people who've experienced WD from opiates (including lope even) that you start to stink badly. I've had this as well. It's like something rancid is oozing out of your pores. I've heard it described many ways, but the best I can do is sweat mixed with body odour mixed with strong almost like caramelizsd onion smell. Gross. And NOT pleasant when you're yearning, craving, kicking, hot, cold, up for 36 hours, yawning, teary eyes etc.

Anyway.. Most people seem to think it's toxins leaving your body. That may well be partially true but is def not the whole story and probably not even partially true.

My hubby bought a thingie for the bathroom. It squirts out a febreeze like most every 15 min or so. It doesn't really have much odour. I never notice it. Except when I'm in WD.
I was in early WD a few days ago and on the opposite end of the house I could taste and smell a perfume !! Keep in mind that right in the bathroom I don't notice it. So had no idea what it was. Asked the family, no one could smell it but me, finally clues in when I went to the bathroom and the smell was overwhelming.
So, I think the stank of WD is twofold.
First and foremost, our sense of smell is heightened. This makes sense as many of our body processes are dulled by opiates. I have a similar photo sensitivity reaction in WD and wear sunglasses even in the house. Lol
Secondly, since we are sweaty and have more body odour from the excessive sweat, that combined with our sense of smell yields something nasty.
The good news here is if those are the only factors it means that we don't smell (as bad) to others as we do to ourselves.

Pro tip: if you're really bothered by it, I use a puff or facecloth and use that soap doctors use when scrubbing in for surgery in the shower. It eliminates all bacteria so you'll have some sweet relief. Don't overuse as its drying , and you may want to spray some unscrnted moisturizer after.
I had this stuff on hand but you can get it over the counter (but behind- you have to ask the pharmie)
