he stood on a stage like a god before his people
fingertips barely touching the record
enveloped in a mistly light like a halo
the music began and we drew closer to the stage
the blood raced through our vains faster and faster
as he sped up the music
the bass pounded in our ears
until we felt it all through our bodies
the dj smiled
the crowd grew larger,
their faces upturned to watch this god make his music
with each build, cheers could be heard from across the room
those sitting down now stood,
their faces to the stage.
with eyes closed and minds open,
the crowd shoved themselves up against each other,
on tiptoes, with arms waving up at the stage
the music cascaded
the screams grew louder and more excited,
and with an explosion of utter power,
the dj set it off
he looked up from his tables,
and the crowd, now dancing furiously to one strong beat
called his name over and over,
and he put his hands in the air,
lifting them all up to an even higher plateau
the rush, the vibe, was unexplicable
you could feel it a thousand miles away,
and the dj brought life to that abanadoned building
the way society never could
people embraced
the music soaring, rushing through their bodies
and he knew in that moment,
there was no better feeling on the earth
than the power he now felt at his fingertips
they made him a god that night
the party is NOTHING without the dj
but the dj is NO ONE without his crowd.
