US Politics The Mueller Investigation - report is out

This is why people need to listen to Pelosi.

She knew impeachment wasn't gonna happen as soon as the report was released.

Not because Trump doesn't deserve it...because

-our system of government gives too much protection to the executive
-Mueller played by the rules (to the extreme), he easily COULD have changed the wording in his report and totally fucked Trump, but he chose not to. (Trumpsters really ought to be Mueller's #1 fans)
- Democrats suck at going for the jugular. They love pussyfooting around, hinting at doing shit, but at the end of the day, they don't have the spine for it.

I haven't watched the hearings, but the feedback I'm seeing is he was awful, simply awful. Other things I'm told would be that he was quick to agree with Dem questions, and started most responses to Rep questions with his own game of 'take a drink when when he says'

Repeat the question
Not in my purview
What page
I stand by the report
Can't get into that

He was agreeing with a lot of what Dems said because their strategy was just to read his report back to him and ask if that was correct.

But he was doing that what page? Can you repeat that? Shit to basically everyone.

It was a total loss for Democrats...they shouldn't have gone through it unless they were gonna have some kind of leverage or mechanism to make him answer their questions.

And from a known biased person (Trump supporter) there was comment that the media coverage zoomed in on the Dems when they asked a question and left Rep inquirers off screen when they had a turn. Seems some will look for outrage under every rock.

EDIT: The videos below show that is patently false.

I wouldn't pay any attention to other people's feedback. Because I suspect it's much like presidential debates. Both sides only see what they want to see. Both seeing their side doing strong and the opposing side doing poorly.

IMO it's best to generally ignore what other people think. :)

The first line is debatable. I will concede the executive branch is extended a TON of authority and autonomy that most others don't have. But that's the nature of the branch in checks and balances. On the other hand, has ANY President been handcuffed and harassed like this before? I can't recall that being the case.

The second line I agree with save one exception. Had Mueller changed the wording to fuck Trump and as he's shown there is no grounds to do so, he would have totally fucked himself. Today, he looks lost and inept. Had he tried to bury Trump it would have ruined Mueller and any chance the Dems had at hanging Trump because there was nothing found my which to bury him.

NADLER: … Director Mueller, the President has repeatedly claimed that your report found there was no obstruction and that it completely and totally exonerated him, but that is not what your report said, is it?

MUELLER: Correct. That is not what the report said.

NADLER: . . . [Y]ou wrote, quote, “If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the president clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state. Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, however, we are unable to reach that judgment,” close quote. Now does that say there was no obstruction?

MUELLER: No.

From the article I linked above:

From article linked in post above:

DEMINGS: Could you say, Director Mueller, that the president was credible?

MUELLER: I can’t answer that question.

DEMINGS: Director Mueller, isn’t it fair to say that the president’s written answers were not only inadequate and incomplete because he didn’t answer many of your questions, but where he did his answers showed that he wasn’t always being truthful?

MUELLER: I would say generally.

One last excerpt (linked above):

QUIGLEY: Would it be fair to describe [Wikileaks] as ... a hostile intelligence service?

MUELLER: Yes.

QUIGLEY: If we could put up slide six. “This just came out. WikiLeaks. I love WikiLeaks.'' Donald Trump, Oct. 10, 2016. “This Wikileaks stuff is unbelievable. It tells you the inner heart. You've got to read it.” Donald Trump, Oct. 12, 2016. “This Wikileaks is like a treasure trove.” Donald Trump, October 21, 2016. “Boy, I love reading those WikiLeaks.” Donald Trump, Nov. 4, 2016. Would any of those quotes disturb you, Mr. Director?

...

MUELLER: Well, it's probably—problematic is an understatement in terms of what it displays in terms of giving some, I don't know, hope or some boost to what is and should be illegal activity.
