my adolescent bumper car
driven by an infantile navigator
unable to see over the steering wheel
destined for pain, shame, and death

off the road onto the dirt
my wheels lose traction on loose soil
things scratch, bends and dent my fender
which blind side antics destroy and create

tumultuous lapse and sudden collapse
with blinding light restoring some sight
another way so high they say
who has smooth ride aside my groove

Nice first draft - this has potential. :) I like the multiple readings offered by the title, and I can really get my teeth into these lines, if you know what I mean:

my wheels lose traction on loose soil
things scratch, bends and dent my fender

Or to put it another way: even though they're capturing the exact opposite, these lines have traction! ;)

Not quite sure what's going on in the last stanza though? I hope you don't mind me saying that it's a little unclear (to me anyway).

^ of course i don't mind. Actually I appreciate it. :)

Funnily, your comment has only shown me another unintentional quality: whilst as intended, the structure begins loose and gets tighter towards the end, the imagery begins tight and ends loose.

Let's see what others interprit before some adjustments or additions are made.
