I love The Killing on AMC. It's a remake of the Danish original. The characters are down to earth and overall the shows just really well done. If you haven't seen this yet you should consider checking it out.

For those who have seen it who do you think is the killer? I firmly think that the detective's fiancé is the murderer.

Not sure who the killer is, but I'm enjoying the show so far. Not quite as good as Mad Men or Breaking Bad, or even Rubicon (way underrated, shame it got canceled) but still pretty, pretty good.

I have The Killing, Game of Thrones, and The Borgias on my Sunday night TIVO list. So far, The Killing is my favorite of the three, but I could see Game of Thrones overtaking it once the plot really gets going.

Watching it and liking it.. I'm wondering if there's gonna be a kill in the beginning of the next episode..

this show was really under the radar, but i just finished it and liked it, compared to most of the crap out there. Worth checking out the free pilot on i-tunes at least.

I dunno. I tried to like it, but as far as I could tell, it was just another whodunnit crime show...like a less-creative Twin Peaks.

the killing

the american remake of a danish series aired 13 episodes on amc.

i'm a couple of episodes from the end and have been very impressed by the entire cast and production. although american made, this show manages to maintain a very strong european feel. it might be the production design (everything is always dark and wet) and/or the beautifully underplayed parts or even the lack of any semblance of obnoxiousness. yes, the new partner is quite quite sketchy at first, but that turns out working really well in the story.

very good so far.

The Danish original (Forbrydelsen) is much better IMO.

I haven't watched the entire American series, but the clues are there as you go along in the Danish one.

Saying that if you like foreign crime dramas the French crime series Spiral (Engrenages) is excellent too.

luls, the voice in the back of my head was telling me to search, but i ignored it.

I am absolutely obsessed with this show, have even caught a few of the original series on SBS here in Australia.

Is very good for a remake and I generally hate remakes.

I couldn't get into it on TV, but since the first season came on Netflix I started watching it. I don't think I could have watched it on TV because the storyline moves a little slow, especially in the first few episodes where they're setting up the characters and plotlines.

It's definitely gotten to be an interesting storyline now that I got into it.

this was one of the better shows of last year. i really liked every aspect of it. the title theme and imagery strikes a great chord with me. it sets the tone perfectly.

for comparison, the title sequence of homeland is the worst piece of crap on television. (slight overstatement).

I can't get myself to follow this. I've tried too. :\

I feel the same way. I've watched every episode, waiting for it to "click." It hasn't.
I don't mind slow paced shows. I fucking loved Rubicon.
Where The Killing fails for me is that I couldn't care less about any of the characters. Rosie, the mother, the councilman..... Meh.
I suppose it would be nice to know who killed her. Just not nice enough to slog through these episodes. I think I'm done. Maybe....

dont really like it, but keep watching because I wanna know who fuckin dunnit.

damn can u belive the sister pushed the car in...well anyways <3 the show hope there is a another season!

Watched this show every night it came on for the first season.. then the finale happened.. and Richmond didnt do it. I was so pissed off and annoyed. I don't know why, it just made me angry that I was strung along all season and couldnt find out. I didnt watch season two but read about it online. I also thought that was crazy that her aunt pushed her in.. and that little shit Jamie killed her. Poor Rosie :(

I'm not a great fan, but did watch both seasons.
So when I read the quote below I thought I would share the information for those interested.

"It appears that The Killing has been un-canceled. Showrunner Veena Sud and executive producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin are actively working on a third season and are back in the writers' room, according to Variety. AMC initially canned the show back in July, but then Netflix and DirecTV started sniffing around. As of now, there's nothing official in place with another entity, but it looks like that Netflix deal is nigh. Welcome, you've got Bockmail."

ooooooh!

i really enjoyed the second season, but perhaps not as much as the first. not until the second half of it really got into gear. the whole "foreign" casino thing gave me a strong twin peaks vibe.

yay, they've renewed it for another season. woot!
