The ISIS Megathread

I'm pretty sure it was you he was referring to when he said "unemployed leftist scum" - noone else was actually talking to him =D

Just because you haven't heard of something does not mean it hasn't happened :\

Just because someone disagrees with you or has a different view/opinion doesn't mean they are wrong. Doesn't mean you have to act like child and throw a tantrum with your ass all hurt. Its going to happen and it seems your struggling with this, but people are going to think differently then you in life. Trust me. it's ok. Be a man and get over it instead of resorting to throwing out pussy character flaws. Just makes you look weak and immature.

And paedophilia - there's plenty off kiddy-fucking going on in the Bible, as has been pointed out to LulWut23 before.
They certainly didnt tell us those verses in the bible at school. That probably would have fucked up some kids on a whole other level then they were already on.

You mean the same book that has the story about some dude who was hundred and eighty or something building a giant ship, and then packing up two of each animal in the ship in prepartion for the memo he got from God saying the world is gonna flood cause they were pissin him off. And he floats around for awhile and then a little birdie comes bye and flicks him a little branch and says your good bro, follow me and lets fuckin land this shit.

Take what you want from the book but seems to me its a perfect example of the how religion is flawed by man. It contradicts itself all over the place. Or the fact your supposed to take one part literal but not this part. Ok, so certain parts i have to decipher where they are blowing smoke up my ass. Sure.

I think the only thing you can take from it is the part that has the life of jesus. That part just talks about being a decent person to your fellow man and helping him out. Son of God or just a great prophet, believe whatever, its just shows a good way to live. I know it doesnt talk about kiddy fuckin with him. That part can apply to everyone no matter what religion. Or the psalms. Those are just like little motivational quotes.

Im not religious but grandma did want me to go to 12 years of catholic schooling thinking i would get a better education. You could say ive opened the bible a few times. Ill tell you one thing is those fuckin nuns are bat shit crazy. Luckily by the time i got to the grade that we had some teaching they had all of them stop teaching in schools but they were still floating around everywhere and the principal was always a nun. The priests are just kinda creepy dudes. THose nuns man, wow, they just got something in their eyes that is just not right. I cant really explain it but its just those blank dead eyes that are just off.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people today who would formerly have referred to themselves as liberal or left wing now prefer the term “progressive”, presumably because it sounds more… well, progressive. But there’s a difference between being liberal and being progressive. I like liberals, but I don’t like progressives. Even lefties are OK if they’re the right sort of lefty, but progressives give me the creeps. Progressive sounds like a positive word, doesn’t it, brimming with the promise of bright new tomorrows. In reality it means moving gradually, progressively, bit by bit, towards an ever more regulated, controlled, and less free society where group identity trumps all and every casual remark is a potential hate crime.

We’ll have more and more equality, and more and more fairness, and when we’ve had all the equality and fairness we can stomach, and then some, we’ll have some more, whether we like it or not. It’s the same agenda as revolutionary Marxism, only they want to do it gradually, progressively. You know, like a disease. A liberal is a person who will defend your right to free speech even when they disagree with you. A progressive is a person who will defend someone else’s right to shut you up because they find you offensive. A liberal sees the value in the free exchange of ideas and opinions.

A progressive views these things as a threat to community cohesion. Liberals do what they believe is right. Progressives do what they believe is correct. Right and wrong don’t come into it. Liberals tend to live and let live. Progressives tend to regulate and censor and meddle and interfere because progressives always know best for everyone. It’s a gift they have. To a liberal, language is a tool. To a progressive, it’s a weapon. The actual meaning of words is irrelevant as long as they can be used as heavy blunt instruments to shut people up, because progressives regard themselves as the sole arbiters of what people should and shouldn’t be allowed to think and say, and they feel perfectly entitled to shout down opinions they disapprove of so that nobody else can hear them. Progressive students are particularly keen on this.

In contrast, a liberal is open to another point of view. To a progressive, there is no other point of view. If you’re not progressive you must be far right, and if you take a dim view of Islam you must be a racist. End of story. So, which are you? Liberal or progressive? You can’t do both. The two words are opposites, in the same way that sanity and insanity are opposites.

To tell you the truth man, I hadnt put much thought into it. I have my views on certain things but i wouldnt know what label to put on myself. I think having an opinion on something is an individual thing, not just cause a group has certain ideologies. There are probably times when i agree with one side and other times when i agree with the other side. I have had people here call me a leftie this and I have had people call me a right wacko which is funny to me cause i dont classify myself as one or the other.

I think it comes from watching my parents react to the political group they weren't a part of as a kid. I would watch them blow them off without even listening to what they said. They were like the enemy and totally wrong and bad for america without even hearing them talk. I used to think to myself, there isnt one thing you agree with them on? That just cant be. Your choosing not to agree because your looking for their faults and it doesnt coincide with your groups general views. Your not disagreeing with them cause of what they said but because your supposed to cause your this label which they are of a different label. Talking shit just because its a differnt politcal class just seemed so stupid and just a way to stay divided on issues. I just dont see how one side can have views and feel they are totally right while the other side has their views and feel they are totally right. Each side different. Each side thinking the other side is fool of shit. I just told myself i wouldnt want to be that way and to listen to everyones side of it along with the facts and then make a decision regardless of what a certain party thinks. I dont even know the difference between the views of each party. Doesnt matter to me. So thats why I dont know what answer to give to your question.

I see a situation for what it is based on what i feel is right, wrong, or the way to live. I try and gather information on it that isnt from a biased source, which can be a challenge these days, and i develop my opinion from that. But even still, I am very suspicious of the news media today. One just cant be totally sure they have all the info and that something is not being left out. Which is also why i can change my mind on something or be open to change my view if something comes to light I didnt know about. I agree with some conspiracy theories and I think some are just people disagreeing just to disagree for attention making up whacky things to pawn off as truth which sucks because it gives less credibility to the people that know what they are talking about.

I do think the bickering that goes on here in America between republicans and democrats is ridiculous and goes no where. These people dont work for the people anyways and they all have shit pouring out of their mouths. They are crooks with suits on. Criminals alot of them. No different then the thugs you see on the street. They could really give tow shits about the citizens. We dont pay them. They work for the lobbyists who pay them. Thats who they want happy. They say what the people want to hear during election time hitting on key subjects and avoiding others and then when they get in office they just do what they want regardless of what they said before getting elected. We may vote and they act like we have a choice but it is obvious we dont. Choose this dipshit or that dipshit. I do think less government would be better

I just dont see how it can be productive or produce positive and efficient results when you have to parties fighting over shit. If your at work and always arguing or fighting with someone then not alot of work will get done. But if you just figure out whats best for the project at hand, then more will get done while being faster and easier.

As a former Leftist/Progressive I have found my views to be driven harder and harder to the right with every conversation I have with Leftists/Progressives to the point that I have had to take some time to reflect on whether I truly believe something or am just being a contrarian because of whom I am debating.

I feel that this has been driven in part by resentment I feel towards Leftists/Progressives for the hostility and flat out out aggression I have been on the receiving end of for merely questioning some of their sacred cows.
Even when I had been at an Anti-fascist rally that very day with these people.

There is plenty to criticize about right wing conservative politics, plenty. But from my perspective there is much more diversity and acceptance of diversity of opinion than on the progressive left.
The conservative right doesn't have subjects which are taboo, like multiculturalism and fucking Islam is to the Left. Nor does the right feel they have the moral authority to silence opposing views through violence and even legislation.

But yes

There is no bipartisanship anymore. It is an ideological battle to the death with both sides retreating further and further from what is reasonable or truthful.

I would suggest starting a new thread except it would be fucking pointless.

Thats what im sayin. I think your in agreement with what i said. Both can have their full of shit moments. Today the policicans are just sticking to what the lobbyist and corporations needs are and base their views on things that benefit them. The people get shit on and more and more as time goes on. We are just another source they can bleed money from to do what they want.

More ad hominem attacks to avoid engaging the substance of the argument. What a surprise 8)

It's actually more of a tu quoque but, whatevs, the guy is a jerk and his opinions mean nothing to me.I've got better things to do than have "substantial" arguments with someone who spits as much hateful bile as yourself - 'tis not good for my blood pressure :)

You must be a real hoot at dinner parties.

Yet you have ample time to come up with snide commentary, straw men and of course, insubstantial arguments ... Funny that ...

That may be, but encouraging others to commit terrorist acts is a bit shy of expanding one's terrorist organization to include such individuals outright and direct their activities.

ebola

How is that not a way for them to expand their organization? Thats exactly what that is. Dont you think if they are able to cause some any kind of destruction in the U.S. simply by posting a message on a social media site they would do it. What a great way for them to spread their violence and hate without even leaving the cave. Seems like a very easy, cheap and efficient way to due some damage halfway across the globe without any kind of travel. Talk about some p.r. It would also be a great way for them to show their capabilities. Im sure they would praise it in their next cowardly video referencing their reach or what they will do next.

With Americas "it wont happen here attitude", ISIS wouldnt have to do anything very big to get their message across and instill alot of fear in a big country. The news media would go ape shit for this too. People arent even following this here. Well, I shouldnt say that but very few people are. They dont know who ISIS is. If by chance they see it on the news or hear about it, I guarantee you they are gonna brush it off as just another thing going on halfway across the globe with those crazy brown people that blow things up. It is a very detached outlook. Even with 9/11, the mindset has returned to thinking that stuff just doesnt happen here and to a certain degree they are right but I still think people should know more of what is going on around the world instead of who the lastest couple getting divorced in hollywood is.

So it wouldnt take much to get this whole countries attention. Then everyone and their brother ends up being a fuckin expert on ISIS and middle east but days before they werent even aware of anything going on. Although if they did do that, the rain of apocalyptic hell from all angles would come down on them so fast and hard that not much would be left of them except maybe a little pile of bones and a Quran next to it. Wouldnt even be able to get out that next twitter post fast enough before the cave blows up.

Since its now been decided that we are going to do something about, its irrelevant to discuss how this came to be or how much of a mess it all is. That is obvious but the way Obama wants to go about this seems like a weak plan. He just wants to dip his big toe in the water. If were going to do this, I think its best to go in there hard and fast with alot of troops as well as powerful artillery supported by airstrikes and just overwhelm the bastards. Dont even give them a chance. They arent any kind of equal match to the u.s. military so just get it there, give them all their opportunity to meet their maker and be done with this and get the fuck out of there. He is gonna draw this thing out with just airstrikes here and there and its gonna end up being a bigger mess then it already is.

Lets just be done with the desert. Fuck it. Shut the door on it and never look back there. Drill at home for the oil and call it a day. Enough problems here that need to be dealt with then getting involved with all that drama over there in the caves. Let them deal with each other. Shit, in a few decades there probably wont be anyone left over there having all killed each other.

My friend, who is in military intelligence (in training but will be flying around listening to communications), I talked to him the other night for about an hour, and he called these guys stone age bastards. He asked me what I think of them/the situation, and I regurgitated a lot of the basic idea of this thread... That they are bastards, and I want something to be done about them- frankly I want every last one of them taken care of, but that military intervention by the west in a direct and dominant role might invite more of a problem for us- and the region. It might inspire more to join them, and more abroad to be connected with them. I basically said/agreed its a shitty, touchy situation, and I wish we had little nanobots that could wipe them all out. That ideally the neighborhood there would take care of it.

He agreed with me, and said he isn't allowed to talk about everything, but said that he'll be in the line of taking those guys out, shortly. He'll be listening to their communications, calling out what needs to be to whomever he needs to... Overall just being a part of their containment/destruction.

He also said that the amount of tech that our military has, that isn't advertised, is appalling. I don't know, maybe he just thinks it is secret. I don't know exactly what he was referring to... But he is very confident in our military. Basically said we have nothing to worry about. I still worry about that recruit that gets the fly up his ass and wants to strike terror into people abroad. It is actually surprising that it doesn't happen more. I hope it stays that way, and that they arent just crazy/wanting to stir shit up. I think they know that if they strike us directly, they're asking for a lot of death on their end.

Not that this image is perfect as it invites reflection for how we tread, but I like it. And it fits us.

"Drill at home"- legalizeall-

I think we might be wanting to use theirs and save ours for the rainy day. I don't know.

Airstrikes by U.S. and Allies Hit ISIS Targets in Syria

WASHINGTON — The United States and allies launched airstrikes against Sunni militants in Syria early Tuesday, unleashing a torrent of cruise missiles and precision-guided bombs from the air and sea on the militants’ de facto capital of Raqqa and along the porous Iraq border.

American fighter jets and armed Predator and Reaper drones, flying alongside warplanes from several Arab allies, struck a broad array of targets in territory controlled by the militants, known as the Islamic State. American defense officials said the targets included weapons supplies, depots, barracks and buildings the militants use for command and control. Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired from United States Navy ships in the region.

Here we go. :|

I hear the Iranians have joined the party but have any arab states jumped on board? More specifically, any Sunni states?

Got to sleep sick fucks. Pack light though cause it might be a little toasty where you're going.

Well who knows whats gonna happen now. No doubt these sick monsters needed to be stopped somehow and soon but the thought came to mind after i read the article above as to when the equation murder+murder=peace becomes accurate. We'll have to see what happens from here.

From the NYT article:

Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates took part in the strikes, American officials said, although the Arab governments were not expected to announce their participation until later Tuesday.

It's hard to say how much involvement these countries really have in the campaign though, and how much of it is just a unilateral American offensive. Though with all of the elaborate military equipment we sell to these countries, it makes me wonder why the US has to act at all.
