The injection that could instantly cure addicts: Researchers reveal compund

I have no idea if I'm correct here, but I would guess that the drug won't erase any memories per se, but break the often exaggerated, romanticized positive memories and attachment to drug intake. The kind of lying inner dialogue that lies behind the vast amount of relapses IME. If it's safe, effective or realistic, I haven't got a clue. But if my interpretation is correct, this would be a fantastic breakthrough in preventing relapses. The "false" memories is the main cause for my many relapses.

I think all memories are connected and any attempt to remove particular memories may cause some soart of total mental breakdown. Sound like fiction

This smells like bullshit. I mean when they say erase the memory what could they mean? Most of my life was lived on drugs for 10 years will that just be a blank spot? Or will it just reduce the emotional attachment to those memories? The feeling I get when I see someone shoot up on tv? Stuff like that? I am highly skeptical.

That's a very good question. I personally would not want my negative experiences with drugs erased or to somehow forget them since they would remind me of how out of control I was with alcohol for half a year, and how I started to use drugs as a teenager and continued to use them both more frequently, and past an age when most people stop.

^In fact some of these memories are precious and I would not want it deleted at all. Memories like that regardless if it's connected with drugs help you grow mature and learn about a thing or two imo.
And if I'd forget how the first feelings are all about that could just make me even more curious.
