The "I Don't Have A Car" Thread

they pull busses over all the time in NJ, the dollar bus especially that runs from NYC wash heights to paterson, I sen them stop a bus and pull everyone out to search one lady

never seen it happen myself but i have noticed those signs that inform you that LEOs may be among you on da bus. never stopped me from cracking a few cold ones for the ride though heh

I've had a car almost constantly since I was 16. When I moved for college at 17, my parents kept me on their insurance plan. When I was 19 (and after one [completely sober and not entirely my fault] accident) they realized this was stupid and took the car back till I could pay for insurance. Man..my apartment was in a central, convenient location but still, it was annoying as fuck having to take the awful bus system everywhere, walk to get shit, wait for people to come over..I don't mind walking once I'm high, but I don't want to walk to get it!

When I got my car back I realized how much I appreciated it. Now that I'm trying to get myself together a bit and I'm staying with my parents, I don't really mind that I don't have enough money saved up to pay for the insurance, tag renewal, speeding ticket I got, etc. It helps me stay sober because I only have one friend that lives way out near my parents, and he doesn't get dope, just methadone that I take if I'm really losing it and need something. So I don't really have the choice of driving an hour each way to get dope.

I do love the independence of having my own vehicle though, and it will be nice to have the car back on the road in a few months.

^ lol

Before my current car, I used to either pick up with friends or sneak around. Sometimes borrow family member's cars (very infrequently) or stop off in the pharmacy to score some codeine. Since I got my car I've "given up" opiates (only tramadol 50mgx3/day - no more fent). Weird, now that I got a connect and transport for good H or whatever I want, I don't want anything like that... Had to take d-propox (darvocet) the other day because I hurt myself because of a broken screw in plate that keeps moving and after the 30 were up I got minor w/d again.

I also got a guy to deliver, but had to pull sneaky maneuvers to score, people are watching me, making sure I behave or don't get out of hand - at least he was very reliable with time. Giving me almost exact estimates. Only time he was late, he got pulled over and searched but they didn't find anything - he has an external compartment.

Chicago has reasonable buses I guess. Not really that great though. Good trains, but crap traffic and often two to five buses come all at once and then there's no more for a while.

For me I used to have to take just one bus to cop, because I live the same amount west as dude, just that he's further south than I am north so in rush hour thats a two hour bus. Ugh. Hell being sick on that ride I tell you.

Now I have a license and bum cars off of whoever. Mostly my mom's van. But christ, that complicates it anyway because I can't take that shit to the spot so I gotta park it then walk over or park it and bus over.
