I don't think of myself as a poet, but one day a while back I had the intense desire to write and I wrote the following. I've not shared it with many people, and all of a sudden today I had the intense desire to share it. It is what it is.

Within the glaring storm's eye,
Hunger brews with putrid flesh,
A glimmer of red echoes across,
And droplets land upon the floor,

Bitter steel through twisted veins,
Screams are heard loud and clear,
But quickly reduced to silence,
A slash, a thud, a crash, and.. shh!

Nope, no sound, zilch, nothing,
Then footsteps, thumping,
Blood starts pumping,
Dripping from the open wound,
Into the hunter's path,

He crouches, waiting for it,
That perfect moment,
That killing blow,
Swiftly, softly, sharply
Job done.

I enjoyed reading this. Its quiet intensity had me gripped throughout. Thank you for sharing your words with us. :)
