middle trilogy films tend to be the jan brady of the bunch. the freckled ginger looks a bit out of place because it starts in the middle of something and ends in the middle of something. this doesn't mean it is of lesser quality, many middle films are quite great, it just means it feels a bit awkward. this is most apparent in the jackson epics, just due to their sheer lengths.
this is a long one, and the ending is less than satisfying, but that's just due to how they chose to structure these last two pics. i would have preferred a full resolution to one element saving the other for the third film, but what we have is like the second and third films as one piece cut in half. i think the lotr trilogy had a better structure, but can't say for sure for another ... *sigh* 12 months.
however i enjoyed it throughout, there are some very spectacular set pieces which had the audience gasping and audibly reacting. also the thing i looked forward to most was completely satisfying, and i only wished i could experience if far more often: the hfr3d.
i love 48fps.
i love love love 48fps.
it's is just so clear and so smooth..... *drools*.... everything else is really shit in comparison. i would seriously go to the cinema three to four times more than i do if there was more 48fps films being made. the high hertz count on my tv can mimic it some, but it is not in the same league yet.
