The Great Debate: Hydrocodone or Oxycodone?

With no Opiate tolerance, Ive gotten a nice energetic buzz from 7.5mg of Oxycodone. Ymmv.

Ill take Oxy to have fun, Hydrocodone to get fucked up (granted I have to take more of that).

PS. Editing thread title to make it more clear. At first glance, some people could think Oxy = Oxymorphone and Hydro = Hydromorphone.

Do me a favor please and edit the title for me again. Remove the "great debate" part since it seems like most people responding have tolerances too high to enjoy hydrocodone anyways, so to them it's probably not something to debate and I don't want to come off as a dick putting it like that.

What if they made 30mg IR hydros? I mean i never really got high off hydro alone because the pills arent big enough an theres apap in em. If they made 30s with hydro idk id buy some an see wich i prefer.

Oxy is generally regarded as 1.5x more potent than hydro. Most people prefer it and get an energetic buzz from it. In my experience it is a slightly "warmer" buzz, but oxy is by far more "up"...

In terms of the quality of the high, hydro and oxy are tied for me, they feel very similar. However, I'd have to go with oxy for pretty much the same reasons that everyone else has said: More potent per mg, higher dose pills available, no acetaminophen so the pills are snortable/injectable, and even if hydro was available pure with no APAP I believe it is not safe to inject due to histamine release like codeine- correct me if I'm remembering incorrectly though.

Strangely I'd prefer both hydro and oxy to morphine, while most opiate users prefer the high of morphine over synthetic opioids, I've just never been able to get much out of it, even IVd. Of course, heroin, oxymorphone, and hydromorphone would be my ultimate favorites, in about that order.

Eh, I used to love hydrocodone, but then when I turned to heroin... It completely changed my views on them. When I was fiending for opiates, I couldn't get any heroin. I did get 50mg hydrocodone along with the 2,500mg of fever reducing liver damage. That 50mg only pissed me off, however it did ease my withdrawal. Oxycodone always seemed to somehow get me a little higher than hydros, but it was also more stimulating for me.

For heavier opiate users, what about Hydromorphone vs Oxymorphone?

I've never been able to get high from hydrocodone. I used to get jacked up on a 5mg oxy, those were the days. Now it takes 30mg or more. I went from chewing them to snorting them.

I've also never been able to get high off of any benzos, I'm not sure if it's from tolerance levels or what.

As for the OP question, definetly Oxycodone. I've tried lots of other opiates - hydromorphone, codeine, heroin. I still prefer oxy. Unless there's coke around, I'll take that.

To the poster that said most opiate users will end up injecting their drugs - I disagree. I have never injected anything, only swallowed or snorted. I don't like the idea of putting a needle in my body. *shudders*

Between the two, for me its all oxycodone. I got the same feeling you described of the energetic stimulation, but also the nod on the cough goodness.

Of course now I do heroin...

I can't believe that is like that for you Rodjonse. From my perspective, hydrocodone is a good opiate if you have not tried oxycodone, but if you have done oxycodone then hydrocodone will not give you relief anymore. The euphoria from hydrocodone is above the solar plexus, one would believe this is the natural place for euphoria because you would feel the same from taking vitamins or after going on a jog. With oxycodone you can feel the euphoria at different parts of the body, for the first time ever you can feel it in your toes or anywhere, also the central euphoria is more stimulating with less of a pressure intensity so you are more energetic and comfortable. Hydrocodone does not cause withdraws and does not have the ups and downs of oxy so that is all the more better.

Lol wut? Hydrcodone most certainly causes withdrawals if used everyday, just like oxy. Both are addicting.

Wait? Hydrocodone doesn't cause WD? But. But. Shiiiiit. I guess I'm gonna be switching over to hydro from now on. Lol. Obviously, it does cause withdrawal. It's an opiate, ffs.

if you think hydrocodone does not cause withdrawal then you're gravely mistaken. please do not spread misinformation. also, hydrocodone's euphoria is definitely greater than that of "taking vitamins or going for a jog". sure, oxy is better in a few different ways, but theyre not that far apart, and I IV heroin all the time and I can still get pretty high from hydrocodone if I have enough.

I cant fanthom how someone can compare any opiates euphoria to ''after jog feel goodness'' that is foolish, i totally agre with what u said. IMO Opiates are the substances that have the best euphoria overall
