Assuming the current trajectory and that no magic trick is pulled out of the bag: I'm telling you that you all don't know what you've done. And voting for what you perceive as having being the lesser of two evils isn't going work the second time around.
First to go is usually the national flag. The people seem to have a penchant for shades of green and and shades of yellow for some fucking obscure reason. Hope you all like those colors.
And speaking of flags: don't go messing about with the BLM flag now people. You can trample on The Stars and Stripes while looting and burning the house down (while you can breathe). But don't you go touching that BLM flag now!
And if you end up with a Democratic President and Democrat control of both the Senate and the House: I'm not even going to say I feel sorry for you. Because it's not like you a) were not warned and b) that you didn't have other real world examples which should have brought you all to your senses.
The above being said: it is my sincere hope that this post in inappropriate to the extent it's premature i.e. still have a ways to go until the 20th!

If you assume that Mr. Biden is going to be in control should he become POTUS then I honestly believe that you are misguided. Personal opinion and no personal offense meant.
As for Medicare for all: agreed that'd be nice I'm sure. At least you'll get something out of the deal. May be that it's a very high price to pay for what you may lose though.
As for the flag: let's just say that our mileage and experience obviously differs.
Only thing that's alarming to me is your last statement as to why, if the national flag was changed, would it even matter. If I have to explain that to you as an American? Then I'm speechless to be honest. And again: no personal offense meant. But it is rather indicative of what's busy playing itself out (well trying to anyway at this point) over there.
Anyway. Forgive my indiscretion of posting on this thread again i.e. I've tried pretty hard to stay clear of all of this for a time. And which I think I've successfully done to a degree not? Damn pissed that Kelly Loeffler didn't win though. If for no other reason than that she sure is better looking than the competition (and in more ways than one to boot)!
Apparently this count only starts at 13h00 DC time which is 20h00 my time (better I check that). So at 19h00 (or whatever?) my time I shall take a Alprazolam and sit back and watch the action. And I sadly have a feeling that I'm going to need another one not too long after that!
But you never know! This world is full of surprises! Maybe I have my first drink in eighteen months instead (I'm sure there's a tiny bit of vodka in the cupboard still left over from a titration experiment)! Or maybe I save that for the 20th!Oh well. I guess I don't really see why an arbitrary pattern of colors has any real implication on our country, who we are, our day to day lives, etc. That said I would think it was pretty weird and would probably find it concerning if they changed the flag, just because, why? There would have to be a reason and I'd want to know that reason. But it never once occurred to me they'd try to change the flag, and I think the likelihood of that is pretty much zero.

Nope. It just means that Mr. Biden is the chosen figurehead at the moment. And if he doesn't tow the even more left line that got him there in the first place then the Democrats will have no issues at all coming up with some excuse to remove him and, as if by magic (and given their unprecedented skills at subversion), Ms. Harris becomes POTUS. And the path should be pretty clear from there.

As for how long it'll take? Dunno. Ms. Harris as POTUS and all her supporters etc.? Could be within the next four years. Could be within the next eight years. Sooner or later though: the national flag will go the same way as did the Confederate flag. The excuse will be that either it's not representative enough of the people or it represents something from history that the far left find unpalatable. And given that they'll be in control: nothing to stop them pushing for that. Might I remind you that just in the last few days: Australia has revised some wording in their national anthem that some found wanting or offensive. Never thought I'd see the day. And they're not even liberals!
Then again: if there's any validity to my theory on this I would at very least imagine that'd be the last straw for the right (assuming the current events are not as such already).

Funny you mention this. I've been keeping an eye on this. Cannot understand why President Trump had an issue with Washington DC being established as a state and thus adding one more star. Probably a good reason for this but cannot say I delved much deeper. But apparently there are some 51 star flags already having been produced and in circulation?

Wouldn't call it sinister. I think I already explained this part in my previous post. It's right up there with destroying statues and trying to rewrite history. Either I'm being sold down the river or you are (or both). But I think you're underestimating the power and influence behind some of these groups that have now come to the fore. It's not just happening in America. And that's pretty much been my point throughout this entire debacle.
Faith in my words? I'd have to think about it. I think it'd be more accurate, actually, to say that if/when the notion of changing the American flag to anything else (other than adding a star or two of course) arises well then there's your warning sign right there and in neon lights. It could happen. And as per my post: usually it's the first thing to be go.
So where that leaves me on the conviction scale: I know not.

It’s something very special to watch these proceedings and the way things are done. Admirable to say the least. And something to be proud of. No matter the outcome.
While I could sit and watch this all night: I don’t think I’m going to make it. Never realised they have to break for two hours per objection. For sure they’re going to be busy for a long long time today.
