His term will expire on the 20th, he has to have been reelected to continue, if he hasn't been his orders carry no more weight.
Watch what happens. Everything I've said will come to pass. The lawsuits will fail, trump will stop fighting, Biden will take over. Or, real outside chance here, lawsuits will fail, trump will keep fighting, and he will lose. And on the 20th he will he removed from the Whitehouse.

Well. My own theories aside: don't shoot the messenger. Although I'll give myself my own due here: the idea of declaring martial law is just something that I figured as somehow being possible and thus mentioned in my posts. Well as it turns out: I'm cleverer than I thought because I actually just looked it up to make sure before replying to your post. Here's just two links that I found in order to respond to your post. Well the first one is obvious (Wikipedia). Although there have been precedents set that preclude the President from unilaterally declaring martial law: note very carefully the exceptions to this (it's all in the first paragraphs so no need to tax yourself going through the entire page).

I don't know why this is so incomprehensible. Likely? At this point now: I'd not even be prepared to hazard a guess.
Put this another way: if I was Trump then this would be my trump card (pun intended). I've now sown discord among everybody, called the election results into question and sown doubt and mistrust among the people, called the legal system into question, and now all I need is a catalyst to light the tinder thus allowing me to declare Martial Law under the guise of civil disorder. If for no other reason than to give me enough time to address the election process shortcomings and hold another election and on the basis on which I've already described. And if done on that basis: it doesn't necessarily mean that blood has to be spilled on the streets either believe it or not (at least not if the plan is "sold" as such to the people).
Unfortunately I cannot find the one thing that I read yesterday about what seemed to me to be an almost ideal voting system (Quora sucks when trying to find something that you've read but didn't bookmark or vote up or down or whatever shit).
And you know what: somebody somewhere made a good point too. Fuck Trump. How come the Democrats have fought tooth and nail and with such gusto to NOT have these election results at very least audited? Piece of dictatorial shit that I may be: I know I'd rather know for sure that I'd won fair and square. I'd be saying "well fine: if that's the way you feel then have at it and let's investigate further". And that not to make me appear to be a nice person. I'd want to be DAMN sure that if I were an elected President that I was indeed fairly and squarely mandated by the people to do my job. And if that's the lengths I'd have to go to: well so be it.
And Trump is not a fascist or a dictator or anything else i.e. I'm so tired of hearing that. The man believes, and not without good reason, that something just isn't right with these election results. And there isn't. It's as simple as that. There is just too much smoke. I don't know the man, I'm not friends with him, I've never been in personal contact with him via PM, hell for all I know he may think I'm off of my rocker. But unlike me: he very rarely posts OPINION (as I am prone to do) without trying to back up the content of his posts. And that's not just on this thread by the way. Just saying. Is there a credible source for this information or are you just taking for granted again that the footage shows what they say it shows. The Trump administration has lied repeatedly about election fraud. They have made countless "mistakes".

@dalpat077, the problem isn't that trump can't institute martial law. The problem is that doing it won't help him.
He could do it, say OK I'm instituting martial law. But on noon January 20, his term will end. The electoral college will not have voted for him, which means no matter who's president his orders aren't valid anymore. The codes to the nuclear football will expire and become useless. Biden will then be sworn in and simply lift the martial law order.
Anyone who defies Bidens order at that point in the executive will be party to a coup and be guilty of insurrection against the United States.
And I promise you, the military WILL back Biden in this scenario.
That's why it's not a concern.
Even if Biden weren't inaugurated, trump still can't remain. His term would expire and continuity of government procedures would take effect instead.
There's simply no way he can continue to give orders after Jan 20. America isn't like some other countries. The president doesn't simply remain until a new president is elected. Even if you don't consider the previous election valid that doesn't matter either, he actually has to be reelected in his own right to continue.
I'm not saying there is such footage. I'm just saying that if there were such footage: the left and the Democrats would ignore it or somehow explain it away. Matter of fact: I could say the same for some Republicans too.

You're presenting zero evidence and they don't believe it... so you assume if you had irrefutable evidence they also wouldn't believe it?
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if Joe Public believes it or not.
It is a judge's job (supreme court or otherwise) to respond to evidence.
I think a lot of democrats would want to know if there was legitimate fraud taking place because that could affect them too. Most people on this thread who are left wing would also probably want to know.
Trump said he was going to claim fraud if he lost BEFORE the election took place. I mean - seriously - what does that tell you about his fraud claims?
It's more than a little frustrating to have people insisting something took place while offering no evidence to back it up and (on top of that) telling them that they wouldn't believe the evidence if you presented it to them.
