The Ferguson thread / additional race discussion

the thing is that you don't see how much you have in common with the very people you want to kill.
it would be simply hilarious if it wasn't so damn depressing and saddening.

the world is broken. fundamentally broken. perhaps irreparably broken? if you don't see that attitudes like yours are a significant part of the problem, then you're blind or stupid.

hate isn't inate. you have to be taught to hate. who taught you to be so hateful?

alasdair

Its funny. When you try and knock someone down a notch you take every word they use and break it down and add "deep" meaning to it. With a very serious tone it seems. You get this very worldly outlook. Then when someone tries to argue your statement you reply with lols, sarcasm definitions, and the word irony gettin tossed around so freely. All of the sudden you make it seem like that person cant take a joke.

DId you really think what 23 wants to see genocide with a group of people. Talk about putting some pretty serious words in someones mouth. I didnt think it was to hard to understand that if a large group of people acted like the idiots on that video, he felt they should be put down and I sort of agree with that. And i really dont care what race they are. An idiot is an idiot.

You shouldnt let it show so much how what 23 gets under your skin. Its quite obvious and kinda surprising coming from an admin

I am happy to say that noone in my family was ever a copper. Christ that would be fucking embarrassing though one could put it to good use i guess if your family member was willing to give you police info. Every cop i have ever met in a social situation and i will admit that's not many all seem alike. They seem like the type of people who where bullied in school or something and have since developed a inferiority complex so they hide behind their badge and gun to get back at the world. They haven't the balls to join a street gang so they joined a organization that defends the state and you can beat on people legally pretty much. They really are a breed of their own when it comes to how they view things. It must be nice to see things in terms of only right or wrong :\

They also seem to be the worst people when it comes to going against their own interests. They protect and serve a state that merely uses them for muscle to beat down their oown countrymen.

Now Im not a fan of cops at all either but how can you say to someone else here dont judge a entire group of people by a a small section of a few individuals when thats exactly what your doing admitting not to have come in contact with many police but condemning all of them and issuing character traits for all of them as well.

Who puts a gun to their head and forces them to be cops? Never knew they had such recruiting aggressive recruiting strategies 8) . Also i was talking about how they act on the job.

The same mysterious gun which was put to Michael Brown's head and forced him to commit a robbery on a neighbourhood convenience store and then attack an armed police officer I presume.

As much as you speak out about pigeonholing or stereotyping you sure love doing so against police officers.

Thats irrelevant. Your still giving mass generalized traits for a large group of men and women based on what the media puts in the trough for us and your few personal experiences. Believe me, Im not a great fan of the cops with no good encounters. Expect one. Dude drove me home when i was hammered instead of taking me in or letting me walk the rest of the way home. Its just I see it often here where someone tells someone else you cant judge a group of people based on a few individual situations and then they turn around and do the same thing. Dont be prejudiced against the blacks but fuck the white privileged, gun nut, penis extending patriots right. Be understanding of one but the other one has it coming to them.

It's a profession it's not like it's their ethnicity or anything. They choose that job and it's not just a few bad cops the whole system is set up to protect the state against the people. It's their choice to go be a part of the problem it's not like they are conscripted

Maybe they came from bad socio-economic circumstances and had no choice but to be a cop.

Alasdair- I do apologize for the crude bit about assessments and my ass.

Cheers to Guliani for speaking the truth and not being afraid of the political correctness brigade.

Oh yes those damn Liberals picking on you Conservatives again. Won't they please think of the children 8) . And that cunt Guliani fucked up NYC according to most people i know. I know lot's of people that lived in NYC back in the 90's, early 2000's but not hate the place as it's just as sterile as any other city. I have never personally been there so i will reserve my own judgment on that when i do make it down there.

As for the situation in Ferguson you will never guess who i saw in the crowd on the news. White people 8o . So apparently there are white people out there as fed up with the cops as black people are. I don't care if they shot down a Black kid, White kid, Asian, Indian, Arab, Native American or whoever they should still be held as accountable as any ordinary person which is obviously not happening here.

Also does anyone else think it odd that they are releasing the verdict at like 9:00 at night?

Always going back to personal anecdotes. "Know lot of people that lived in NYC back in the 90s" "one time this police officer", "knew a nice black guy". Lol. The fact remains Giuliani severely reduced the crime rate and mitigated 9/11 as it happened and ran the city well during his time in office.

Have you ever been to NYC oh wise one? If not your going on the same shit as me.

Please. Violent crime(and many other types) was already going down steadily 3 years before he took office, which was actually a nation wide trend, not unique to NY. I won't argue that Giuliani had an effect on crime but it was mostly bullshit quality of life crime like marijuana arrests, harassing hookers, hiding homeless people from the tourists.

9/11, yeah, as a new yorker I feel he did a good job. Though it's kind of silly to say he did any better than anyone else would have done in that position because we have nothing to compare him to. Maybe he really did a shitty job for all we know?

Liberal arts majors secretly holding back the very people they think they're trying to empower? =D

If the cop acted in self defense then what's to be held accountable?

Bloomberg did a great job banning those oversized beverages from 7/11's and de Blasio was instrumental in banning horse-drawn carriages due to "animal abuse".

You really think the subsequent mayors were much better? Some of the laws they've passed are absolutely laughable.
