flicking through pihkal i came across this gem of a potential psychedelic
under TMA-2 shulgin lists 2,β-dihydroxy-4,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine as THE endogenous psychotogen but he never got over 250mics before it started to degrade and the idea was lost
so i looked around and the only instance on google was the entry from pihkal
what do you think then?

He proposed that as such, without real evidence. I don't think thats a reasonable proposal in light of what we've learned about brain chemistry since Shulgin was doing that work.

Even if it was the endogenous psychedelic, i would likely not be active anyway because of those two exposed hydroxyls wouldn't get through the BBB.

Beta hydroxylated phenethylamines make for poor psychoactive agents; they're better off left as decongestants and other sympathomimetics.
