The End of the Road
(i wrote this a long time ago but it seems appropriate again)
I had a dream, it seemed so real
But when I awoke, pain was all I could feel
In my dream, you looked at me
And the girl you loved, was all you’d see
You touched my hand and familiar chills
Ran down my spine
I remembered how it felt
When you were still mine
Somewhere the path we were walking on diverged
I went left and you went right
But now I realize that in the end
The paths join again, as I thought they might
And in my dream we joined hands again
And walked the rest of the way together
But in real life, you were walking with someone else
And I walked alone forever.
